The Half Dome helmet is a cool looking, low-profile helmet that combines a rigid shell with a webbing suspension system. Without obscuring your vision, the sculpted shell offers maximum head coverage and protection. The suspension system offers great comfort and contributes to good ventilation because there is ample room for heat to escape. To fit a variety of different head sizes, a foam-padded crown strap is easily adjusted using a Velcro closure system. You can take the Half Dome climbing anywhere on rock or ice and you might make it halfway home before you realize you're still wearing it.

"Lightweight helmet that is a bargain for the price."
I bought this helmet about 2 years ago because it was a bargain price for such a great helmet. I hit my head alot while climbing and it gives me that extra comfort while I am climbing multi-pitch. Protects me from loose rocks, like while climbing Castleton Tower on the Cor-Engales route. Ventilation is not all that great but that was never an issue with me.Mine has stickers, dings, scraps and contour video mounts all over.I saw reviews saying it was hard to adjust to their heads, I guess I have a perfect melon because I have never had an issue getting a perfect fit.All in all it is a great helmet for the price, especially for an entry level climber.
My club uses these helmets all the time for our climbing outings. They're durable, lightweight, and very strong. It's a bit hard to adjust them to fit your head and wobble a bit, but are very comfortable and I would turn to this helmet over many others of the same price. Black diamond does real good with their helmets. For better ventilation, try looking at the Vector however if your budget it tight, its the option for a cheap headsaver.
"Good helmet. Not particularly stylish, but great for comfort and simplicity."
No frills. This is a comfortable helmet that does the job and fits great due to the little dial at the back. Not the best in terms of style (I have the slate gray one) but just put some stickers on it and itll look cool.
My head is the perfect size to be on the small end of the large size, and the large end of the small size. I ended up with the large size so I can wear a hat underneath it in the winter. When I'm not wearing a hat, the helmet seems big and bulky. I wish I had done more research and found a helmet that fit my head better. If it fits your head, it's a decent helmet and gets the job done for a great price.
"Excellent helmet that could have more padding"
This helmet is really good. It fits well and seems very sturdy. The only caveat is that it's not that comfortable. The padding is a bit stiff. However, when climbing, this is not that noticeable. It is an excellent piece of protection that every outdoor climber should own.
It all started when I had my first fall lead climbing, the wife started to nag about how dangerous it was and how I could at least invest in a helmet... Like other things, I put it off for about as long as I could. Eventually, our marriage turned sour. There no longer was dinner ready when I came home from work. I stopped getting head scratches on movie night, and worst of all, I found myself having to do my own laundry. Things just weren't the same to say the least. So, I did what any good man should do, I swallowed my pride and bought the helmet. It wasn't long after the helmet arrived that I found things slowly go back to normal. Dinner was ready at 6pm, laundry was folded and put away, and she was talking to me again. So, in conclusion, not only is this helmet super comfy, light, and at a great price. I would recommend it to anyone who is having relationship problems.
I used this helmet for mountaineering. I bought a sm/md and should have sized up so it would fit better over a thick beanie. It fits fine without so I will still use it for rock climbing and summer summits.
Light, comfortable, protects your brain, and doesn't make you look that dorky. It probably won't help you pick up chicks, but its the most stylish (imo) out of the rest of helmets out there. East to adjust as well.
