I am on my second gizmo because the first one stopped working 3 years in. I would say that this is a drawback, but I gave black diamond a call and they sent me a brand new one free of charge even though my warranty was expired! Black diamond works great with you and this is a bright light that you can pack just about anywhere! Good luck!
I love the size of this headlamp, it is small enough to carry in my pocket yet powerful enough to light up my garage when looking for my lost pet koala.
We bought six of these "Gizmos" for all of our grandchildren for Christmas. We told the kids to open their gifts at the same time and then put them on. We had them all sit on the couch with the headlamps on. Cute picture -- ages 2 - 12. The kids promptly went to the basement for some flashlight tag. Glad we purchased the Gizmos!!
Nothing bad about this headlamp, it's worn on the head and gives light. For an affordable options for the occasional adventurer, it's perfect, but for anyone looking for a light you can see well by in the wilderness, there are better options (see Petzl) at only slightly higher prices
It really is a great headlamp, specially for the price. The illumination is great, the lamp is very compact, and very light (I think the two AAA batteries weigh more than the lamp itself) and the dimming option is very useful. The range of tilting fits my needs but I'd like to see just a bit more tilting. Great for finding stuff around camp and short hikes in the dark
