I've been using these pants for some time now, backcountry skiing/snowboarding. The cut on them is PERFECT. The fit is functional and athlectic - not binding and restrictive and not loose and impractical. Articulation is provided in all the right places and pivot points at the hips/waist and knees never result in binding or exposure. The power cuffs work well to seal snow from the tops of your footwear and include a latch for locking into laces. The interior abrasion-resistent patches at the bottom work well to prevent wearing from the most commonly worn area.
These aren't the fanciest ski/snowboard pants out there, but they simply work! I'm 6'3" 195LBS 34" waist and I have them in Large-Tall. The extra length is perfect! I use them for both skiing and snowboarding, they are more than roomy enough to use snowboarding. As mentioned they have the internal belt, that is more than adequate in keeping snow out. These pants do have light insulation, so you wont need multiple base layers. The two hand pockets have been extremely watertight (I keep my phone in them). All in all everything you would expect from an Arcteryx/Gore-Tex product. You get what you pay for with these guys.
I like the fit (a little looser than my mountaineering gear) and the feel (a lot softer and quieter than my Acteryx bibs) of these pants very much, but I have trouble keeping snow out of the back if I get in deep or fluffy stuff. They have an internal belt, but there's a little lip that seems to scoop snow up and allow it to either slide in or melt in place. They're good for days when it's a little cold (they have some insulation) and I'm not out in the backcountry but staying in bounds. Full Disclosure, I've been participating in the Gore MountainTechs program since 2007 and have received similar pants in the past. Didn't affect my review of these pants though...
Bought these for my husband, avid skier. He's 6'2" and weighs about 180 lbs. Length and fit are perfect. He hasn't skied in them yet but has the Arc'teryx Stingray jacket and loves the water proof and wind proof Gore-tex. Super high performance.
