The Men's Solano Jacket by Arcteryx is a polyester faced Windstopper shell that sheds moisture exceedingly well and balances wind protection with active use breathability. Nylon lined sleeves facilitate donning and ease of movement, and a brushed polyester lining on the body wicks moisture and adds a small degree of insulation.

"best lightweight jacket u can find" 09/29/12

the design aims to city and moderate environment, not severe condition. but the windstopper actually does work. the fit is well and the roomy space and fleece make a bonus

Even though this is a thin jacket that does well in the wind(windstopper fabric), the sewing on this jacket is terrible. Arc'teryx should stick with Canada made.

"Best lightweight jacket i've found so far" 01/19/11

Well cut, super light weight, and effectively stops a cool/cold wind! This jacket can be worn for a whole list of activities (mostly golf for me). I've searched high and low for a lightweight jacket that can stop that pesky wind! got it in Volcano.

Well cut, super light weight, and effectively stops a cool/cold wind! This jacket can be worn for a whole list of activities (mostly golf for me). I've searched high and low for a lightweight jacket that can stop that pesky wind! got it in Black.

"Great looking but non-serious jacket" 01/12/11

I've owned the Solano for a year. I am comparing this jacket to a Marmot Driclime which I have owned for eight years.ProsThe jacket looks smart. It looks formal enough not to look out of place over office clothing.Because the sleeves lack a fleece lining, it's easy to wear over long shirts.ConsConstruction is poor. The stitching on both sleeves is starting to go after a year of light city use.The outer fabric is fragile. I have torn a hole in this jacket by walking into furniture.Because of the lack of fleece in the sleeves, the useful temperature range of this jacket is narrow. It's not anywhere near as warm as a Driclime so is not suitable for use without a base layer

"Good spring/fall jacket" 11/14/10

This is nice light windproof jacket. This does not have any insulation. It makes a little bit of noise but does not bother me. The back part is longer than usual jacket, and it almost like cycling jacket. Fleece like material on collar is very comfortable. I don't want to pay full price, but if you can find good discount, it's highly recommended.

"For Slack Packing and on the Town" 09/07/10

I am not really that old, but this is Moosejaw.Love the jacket! It works great on the trail as well as going out on the town. The logo is just the right size! You don't want to look like a roadside billboard. The jacket fits well, just enough room to fit a light sweater/fleece top. It repels rain but not a Rocky Mtn Storm. The windstopper actually does work for anything under a class 3 hurricane.
