It's very easy to talk up an Arc'teryx jacket, especially one as loaded with features as the Men's Fission SV. Designed to conquer any conditions that winter can stir up, this insulated shell doesn't mess around. It's right there in the name (SV stands for "severe"). The Coreloft™ insulation offers exceptional warmth, even when wet, and eliminates cold spots. The shell is a super durable GORE-TEX® for complete water and wind protection (and snow, and coffee and mustard, etc). The Drop Hood is helmet compatible and insulated, with an integrated fitted collar panel for added warmth and comfort. What all this means: you'll pretty much be wearing your own cozy climate.

This jacket cost me an arm and a leg especially for a college student but I assure you it is worth every single penny. This is by far the warmest jacket I have ever owned. I love that it is wind and water proof, the gore-tex is amazing. The hood is adjustable but I do wish it was a little smaller. That one small detail would never prevent me from purchasing this jacket though.
Despite a warm wool winter toggle coat, I was frequently cold. A recent camping trip with my son in some prematurely nast weather - first wet, then below freezing - convinced me of my need for a coat that was warm, waterproof, and didn't make me look like Paddington Bear. This really delivers. I'm 6'1" and weigh 265 pounds. I wear a size 50 sport coat, and the XXL fits great without making me look like a giant blue python that just ate a goat. The down sides are minor: it's slightly noisy, and the cuffs aren't comfy soft. The take home message: 1.) it looks great and it works; 2.) nothing else is this warm, breathable, wind and waterproof; 3.) it's worth the money - think of the rewards points!
Have this for two seasons, from Moosejaw, in black. Very warm, like 25F run I outdoors with tee-shirt and Fission SV. :) Use it as AR jacket in winter. Even occasional skiing in North East, Stowe in particular, when it's really nasty cold and windy. I'm 5'10" athletic a bit of tweener for Arcteryx sizing and aq large is best fit for me in this jacket due to my awe3some swimmers shoulders, sleeves a little long but what the hay it's Swany gauntlet gloves are a fix for that.
