I'm 5'11 and 189lbs and bought this in size L. I really like the fit. Trim fit, but not too much. It was exactly what I was looking for. A thin, lightweight, comfortable jacket with ease of movement. I don't like big bulky jackets. Good for something down with temps into the 40's. Breathes well during activity. Could wear as a mid layer but I don't. I use it as a stand alone. I have purchased other Arcteryx apparel, this being my first jacket. As with my other Arcteryx stuff, I am not disappointed. I love it.
Love it! I was looking for a light and thin layer to go under a trim fitting jacket like an Atom LT. All the fleeces I had were way too thick and heavy. This fit the bill perfectly. It adds enough extra warmth but wears like a thin sweater. It could double as a base layer or a light jacket on a warmer day. The Polartec 100 material is super soft and feels amazing. At 5'5" and 145lbs (38S suit) the small fit perfect and trim. But any smaller it would only fit as a base layer. I got it in the Carbon Copy color and it looks great with the red zip pulls. A little pricey but i'm already looking to get another one. Light, thin, and versatile!
I am 6'2" 185 lbs, atheletic build, and bought the Medium. Returned the large because it was too baggy in the belly. Comfortable down to 40-45F by itself and works well as a fleece layer above the base and below the mid-down for extra warmth on longer cold weather hikes. The fleece will stretch if you pull your sleeves up, so there isn't too much elasticity to it. A good wash will put it back to form. Nice little picket on the left arm. Sized smaller than a cellphone. Maybe a small MP3 player or a house hey would fit. Good sized torso pockets which, when closed, give the fleece a much more athletic look.
My girlfriend got me this jacket and I absolutely love it. I had to end up ordering a second one in another color because I wear I wear it so often! It's perfect as a base layer or to wear on chilly days. The inside is really soft and because its so lightweight you can just throw it in a backpack if you need too. Such a great jacket!
I was looking for something light weight and breathable to keep in the pack while hiking. Sometimes when you reach elevation it gets windy and chilly. This light weight fleece is perfect. Weighs next to nothing and if it gets too cold for you just through a vest over it and there you go.
"Great lightweight jacket good enough to take the chill out of those raw fall days."
Love the jacket, it is the same weight as my delta lt zip (no surprise), but I would classify this as more of a full zip sweatshirt than a true jacket. It fits true to size and will layer nicely under a ski jacket or heavier shirt. As usual it is the high quality product I expect to receive when I order anyting Arcteryx
Its a great product to layer up, I wouldn't use it as a stand alone unless its only slightly chilly (does not stop wind). Fabric is soft but very durable. As all arcteryx items its made with care and you can feel that. The side arm pocket fits my chap stick very well which is always a plus. sizes ran true for me.
Light weight material. Perfect for casual outdoor use. This will keep you plenty warm without having to wear a big bulky jacket. True to size. I'm 6'0 175 and I wear a large. Fits like a glove with a tshirt underneath. No way could I put this over a sweatshirt. Athletic fit so you wouldn't want to wear anything bulky underneath. Looks great as a dress-up out on the town jacket. I own 2 of these bad boys. The blue is the bomb and the silver is smooth as well.
Got this jacket about a month ago and couldn't be happier with it. The silverstone looks great, a nice change up from wearing black jackets for years. It's amazing how well it keeps you warm considering how lightweight it is. With a long sleeve shirt on underneath, it keeps you extra toasty. It also works great as a mid layer. You can throw a shell on over it and it won't feel bulky at all. It has become my go to jacket for pretty much everything short of the most frigid days.
"Yes, I would recommend this to a friend"
As always, another great piece from Arc'teryx! I was most impressed by the warmth of such a light jacket and how well it kept out the wind. Fit and feel are great. Ordered the cardinal (red), not too bright, not too dark. Perfect for chili morning activities as it breathes well and pulls moisture away from the body.I use this jacket for running, cycling, climbing and camping.
I am 6 foot 4 inches tall and the XL is perfect in sleeve length with some extra room. It is very light weight and comfortable on. I bought the color red and the color that came in was red so one would say Moosejaw gave it to me the right way. Very happy with the quality and I look forward to my future Arcteryx purchases
"If you're not, at least Arcteryx makes you look like an avid Bad Ass Mo Fo!"
The only reason I have to buy another one of these is to get the black one so I can continue to wear it sneaking on to my favorite piece of property to enter my favorite little stretch of trout water. It's hard to get away when wearing an alarmingly bright blue sweater :) On the real - this thing is a do all, extremely light weight garment. I've even layered it under a shell and was surprised that it had some warmth to it when the wind is off of it. The best part about this piece is that it breathes amazingly well. I often wear a long sleeve, even when it's warm, to keep the bugs off of my arms but am not a fan of sweat. This is the answer.
