The season we've all been waiting for.... the first line of Arc'teryx down jackets. I didn't think it was possible, but I'm looking forward to the Arc'teryx clinic more than ever before. The Arcteryx Men's Cerium LT Hoody utilizes a mixture of strategically mapped 850 fill down and Coreloft™ synthetic insulation. The synthetic insulation is placed in areas that are prone to moisture (hem, collar, sleeves and underarms), and the down is stuffed everywhere else to keep your core warm while allowing the Cerium LT to be light and compressible. If you need a little extra warmth or protection just put on the hood to keep that noggin of yours warm. With this insulating mid-layer, it's like you're wearing years and years of research and progress.

The high quality you expect from Arcteryx. I would, however, have liked the addition of a chest pocket, and use of a heavier outer fabric. This hoody is a light weight jacket with good loft and warmth. It fits under my Arcteryx Venta SV shell. Because of the light outer fabric, you probably won't want to wear the jacket directly with a backpack, or when moving through the trees. The jacket works well as a general winter jacket around town.
"Best investment for a down coat that I've ever made"
I'm going on a mountaineering trip at the end of the month to hike the highest point in New York. I needed a light yet warm coat and this goes way above that. I've been wearing it with only a t-shirt in 15 degree weather and have been so warm. Definitely worth the investment.
this jacket is very light and fit well. It is also very warm given the small size and light weight. I am 5'9 and it fits me well. If you are like me living in Bay area, this jacket is over kill and will make u toasted. It helps me defending the harsh winter in Chicago during the travel.
I live in San Francisco and this jacket is over kill for California winter. However, I wear it when I travel to midwest and it provides enough protection against harsh Chicago winter. I walked outside at 0F without feeling cold. It actually made a toast if I don't take it off inside the building. Very light and comfort jacket. I am 5'9 and 160lb and mid size fits well. Only concern is the small zip which appears flimsy. Hope Arcteryx will defend its brand over time.
At first I was a bit skeptical about this purchase for one major reason. It was part of the first line of down jackets that Arcteryx had released. Not many reviews existed and there hadn't been much time for people to properly test it out. However, as soon as this puppy arrived in the mail I knew I had made the right choice. The moment I took it out of the box I was astounded at how light it was but that wasn't what got me. I felt the material that the jacket was made of and I could instantly tell that a great amount of thought was given to durability as well as weight. I have felt many other similar jackets and some of which may be lighter then the Cerium, however when I wear them I am afraid that a fast flying grasshopper could tear a hole in them. Not this guy though. Another thing I loved about this jacket was the notorious styling that Arcteryx provides. And not to mention that its the warmest piece of clothing ever ever snuggled into! I will take this with me for years to come!
Bought this jacket after trying on my buddy's jacket a few weeks back. I really like the fit (XL). I like the length of the jacket, covers my rear well. I have had a couple people ask where they could get a similar coat, so i guess it looks great on me. Bought the jacket for down hill skiing and wearing around town. This jacket proved to excel at both of those! Would buy again. Looking at Arcteryx gloves as a next purchase from Moosejaw. This was my first ever Arcteryx purchase, very happy that I bought this jacket.
"Great quality and warmth, ALMOST a perfect fit"
I'm 5'8", 160 lbs. The True Fit guide on Arcteryx's website said size medium would be an 'excellent fit' so I ordered that. The jacket fits very well through the chest, torso, and waist, but the sleeves feel a little more snug than I would prefer. The fit is definitely designed for someone with an athletic build, but not particularly muscular. I tried on a large and it was way too big everywhere. As far as warmth, I was very comfortable wearing just a t shirt under the jacket in 25F weather. The zipper seems a bit delicate, but other than that the jacket seems durable.
