"Midwest Spring/Fall Jacket for 50deg weather"
I bought this in Stone Pine and i absolutely love the color and thats what drew me to this. This isnt a slim fit hoody, its not the warmest, nor the lightest or most packable. But it wasnt designed to be. Per Arcteryx's website this is a 24/7 piece. With that as its niche and grading it by that I think it works really well for the spring/fall here in the midwest. The first thing I noticed when I put it on was the micro fleece on the inside, its so soft and comfortable its hard to take it off. And considering how much I travel with a pack on I kinda wish i had purchased the one sans the hood.
"Good warmth for aerobic activities, but too heavy for ultralighters."
I bought this jacket last may to wear as a midlayer and initially loved it. It is warm, breaths pretty well, and a medium fits me almost perfectly (I'm 5'10''). I only have two issues: 1. It is almost impossible for me to roll up my sleeves to the elbow; the cuffs are too tight to fit around my upper fore-arm. and 2. it is a heavy jacket for the kind of warmth it provides. 16 oz is a lot for ultralighters, and I have opted to leave it home for a few trips where weight was a concern. But if weight and the ability to roll up your sleeves are not two of your concerns, this jacket is pretty sweet.
