When I got them in the mail, I was a little disappointed they were not exactly the color in the picture. They are a little darker grey in real life. I bought them for a cold vacation overseas. They were comfortable and warm. They fit about 1/2 size big. Usually I wear a 7, but I think I could have done better with a 6 1/2, they slip just a little when I walk. But overall, I'm glad I bought these.
I like the boot. It fits well, is durable, lightweight, easy on off, great traction and it keeps my feet toasty warm. I do admit that there are cuter boots out there. Cute is not how I would describe this boot. Living in Michigan we have serious winters and this boot helps you survive the season without feeling extremely clunky as some boots do. They are not made to climb mountains or win a fashion show, but they do get you through a harsh winter season in comfort. If you shovel snow, make snowmen or just play in the snow, these will be your go to boot. In fact, I just wore them today to get to a yoga class and there was someone else in class with the same boots. Namaste.
"Stiff - not hiking or walking friendly."
The fit within the foot area was great, not too tight, not loose, appropriate for size guidelines. Moving up the leg, the ankle area design did not work for my needs and expectations. I was hoping to use these boots to be active, hike and walk through the snow. No way is that happening. The double layer of leather on the back of the ankle restricts movement. The boots were very stiff and uncomfortable. The fit on the calf was just right, I have larger calves (17 inches in width). They were very warm, I would not have concern of cold feet in weather below zero degrees.
I hope I will not use them much in Denver. Boots are not pretty and fits snug, so I will get 1 size bigger for a medium thick sock, but for thick 1 1/2 bigger. I will not wear skirt with this boots, only pants over boots. I wear business attire so hopefully winter will be nice. Wish all nice winter, no cancelled flights :))
