"Be Careful Installing" 01/24/12
If you overtighten it will bend structure and then the hole where the sks locks align will not properly align. That means you will not be able to lock the housing despite the tower being installed on the roof. I was putting the racks up and couldn't figure out why such a simple system wasnt locking when i turned the key. And the pro at REI says despite doing soo many of these installs he still overtightens these (and bends them) from time to time. Poor design. Theyre fine once their up. click down the housing and youre set to go. but initial install may cause problems.

I got this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend and he is one happy camper. We were initially concerned about how these would treat the car, but it does not leave any marks or scratches. It's very simple to install and remove. The only downside is the noise while driving. It's recommended to get a fairing.

I was certainly a little skeptical when I opened these that they would adequately hold my system to my car. After installation, it's almost as if this was a factory setup! No worries on this one, works fantastically!

I was a little wary at first, but these things really lock the rack down. After several trips with a 15' kayak on top at 80mph for 2+ hours each way, I can attest that these things aren't going anywhere. On top of that they add a little pizzazz to my boring camry.

Bought a Yakima rack last summer. The Q-Towers work great on my Pontiac G6. I haven't taken the rack off since initial installation. They are starting to look a little weathered due to the fact that I don't really wash and oil them at all, but I really should. Overall, great product and esy to install.

I got these so I can haul ladders and such on my Chevy Colorado.There aren't a whole lot of options out there for such things unless you want to spend a grand and drill holes in your truck.So I checked out Yakima and there it was, the perfect fit for my needs.Thanks Yakima & Thanks MooseJaw
"Looks dated but works nevertheless less" 04/22/11
These have been around for some time now. When new they look shiny then pale out overtime but the whole time they grab the crap out of your car to make sure the cross bars and whatever you are carrying ontop does not move. Make sure you get the right clips for your car and put them ontop according to the measurements for your car.
