I had someone do the install for me. I was a little nervous about drilling a hole in the top of my car. But man- this thing is rock solid. My first rack cost about $800 and it got stolen. That's messed up. They just pried the clips off the roof. This one is bolted. They are gonna have to cut something to get it now...which means they'll just go on to someone who has a clip-on roof rack.Get it right, get it tight! Get this roof rack!

This final installation note is for modifying my Dodge RAM1500 Crew Cab installation for any truck bed. See review under 1 Yakama High Roller Bike Racks then go to 2 Yakama Control Towers review and finaly 3 this one for the whole story. Sorry they have a limit of 700 charachters. Just fit the 2x4 bed fram to accomodate the entire truck bed you have. Mount the tracks the same and order a 58" Yakama Round Cross Bar and cut to fit inside the bed. All of the other parts shgould be the same. Happy Hauling & Biking. Big DAWG is finally done.
The price was right and everything went together fast. They're really of no use without the control towers and crossbars, so don't forget those. And if you want to keep all your cool new stuff, I suggest getting the SKS Lock Cores too.
