"Best shoes I have ever used." 04/06/13
The Bilila LS shoes by Vibram Five Fingers are the best shoes I have ever used, I will never return back to what people consider "normal" shoes (what is normal anyways). They are great for running, walking, conversation starters, you recover faster from workouts with these shoes than with the. I'm ready to order more Five Finger shoes to expand my collection.
"My favorite model so far!" 12/02/12
I have been a big fan of Vibram Five Fingers--this is the fourth model I've purchased and it is by far my favorite. The first generation (sprints, classics, kso) left empty pockets around my heel, leading to hot spots and blisters. These are harder to get my feet into, but once I do, they fit like a GLOVE. My husband has the corresponding men's model and we will both definitely repurchase this model once ours give out on us.
"getting these to fit and getting into them: very, very difficult" 07/24/12
I've worn several models of FiveFingers shoes for 2 years. No problems. The FiveFingers website (& many commentators) make it clear that one needs to go down a size in these. I went down a size, as directed & I loosened the laces as much as I could. But: the instep is much too tight. I could get them on one foot, but after 2 sessions of 15+ minutes in which I could NOT get my toes aligned, & could not maneuver successfully (even despite the laces), I gave up. The instep is tight, & the laces don't really let you maneuver that much. Maybe these would work for people who don't have much of an instep, or have very narrow feet. But that's not how they were promoted.
"I love these like an insane amount" 07/23/12
They're actually not that hard to get on (unlike the ones that were too small and I had to Cinderella them on) and while they're warm they aren't all sweaty or anything. I really like the blue ones pictured and if I'd have seen those I would have gotten them. Mine are black, gray and yellow which is okay but they're kind of matchy-matchy with the husband which was so totally not on purpose but silly looking anyway. I wear them for everyday use and for recreational running. The only bad thing I have to say about them is that I can't go out while wearing them without someone stopping me to comment or ask me questions :)
"Wouldn't run in anything else unless someone were chasing me." 05/17/12
I've run in these once but ran in KSOs. I have high arches & had little trouble & no pain adjusting to the BikilaLS. The fit guide worked, though toe width is snug & I can't wear toe socks.Unlike KSOs, I wore these around the house to get my toes used to being separated: It had been a year since I'd worn VFF. After that, no problem getting the shoes on. Soles of the Bikilas are thicker, but all I noticed when running was the ground (not my shoes).W/ the thicker soles, I look forward to easy hikes & wearing them in town. I like the laces better than band around the back that my KSOs have, in terms of care (I removed the band before washing: won't have to do that with laces) & appearance.
"The attention I get is like attracting a future husband LOL!" 05/16/12
I get so much attention everything from how does it fit etc. I should really be a spokesperson I Love this shoe so much I want one in several different colors as well as a pair for my kids, the only negative is they tend to funk up the room so you gotta wash them spray ect. don't take them off if your on a date I guarantee he will leave but perhaps it won't matter if you want to get rid of him anyway I recommend this shoe very comfortable!
"Best of the Fivefingers!" 05/16/12
I tried on several styles of Vibram Fivefingers at a retail store, and definitely found these to be the most comfortable - especially with the lacing instead of the velcro strap. These are AWESOME for running, but they do require about a month of easy-going running to build up those calf muscles! I would highly recommend trying on this type of shoe at a store, then buying them from Moosejaw!
"Make You a Faster Runner" 05/11/12
I just started running in my new Bikilas, and I never got the pain that most avid Vibram users note in their reviews. Maybe I already had good running habits. I do have asthma, so I don't usually last very long running full speed. I took my dog for a 5-mile run today, and by the end I had to stop because I wore her out so badly! She is a Border Collie/German Shephard mix who should be able to outrun me any day of the week. The only reason I dock these shoes a point is because I also have a pair of KSOs, and they are so much more breathable that I'd rather wear them, even though these are specifically made for running. I love them either way though.
"This is my second pair, I'm addicted!" 05/08/12
I love, love, love Vibrams. This is my second pair after I had to finally retire my first pair( after four long years of use) I will NEVER go back to traditional running shoes. Yes, they do take a while to get used to, yes they do feel awkward at first, but after the first week or so it's the most comfortable shoes you'll ever wear. I have bad knees and can't run in traditional shoes anymore, but with the five fingers my knees do not bother me at all. Make sure you get sized at a store as the vibrams fit differently (European sizes) and try on several models to see which you prefer, but Moosejaw is the place to order from!
"Great Shoe! Takes a bit to break in." 05/08/12
This is a fantastic shoe for someone who is looking to wear them casually, with some outdoors activity. I am actually a guy and I bought these because none of the men's Vibrams came in my size in a style that I liked and I figure they're pretty unisex anyway, so I got the black and grey ones and they are very stylish. I cant tell you how much Im enjoying these shoes, I wore them to go hiking/swimming at the river the other day and they stayed tight and comfortable the entire time. My only complaint is that they took several days to break in and in those days my feet hurt pretty bad. All in all I would recommend these in a heart beat.
"The best of the vibram line" 03/15/12
For a while I thought it was going to be impossible to find a solid fit in these 'barefoot' shoes, even after reading the website recommendations, I was between sizes and have a very narrow , but long foot with 'monkey toes'. I tried the kso's, and the classics, but nothing compares to the comfort of these. I got a size 39, and Im generally in the women's 8 size range. I thought they might be clunky-er than the classics due more of a sneaker look, but they are light and flexible. I also invested in these because of wide range and diversity of activities these can be used for, aka they seemed the most versatile. Cant wait to go hiking in these, but for now will wear them on my runs !
"Nice feel and hopefully will break me of putting my heel down first" 03/07/12
Jury will be out for a while. They are super comfortable but I have a lot of bad habits to break. My extremely high insteps make it a little difficult to "walk" my toes into them. I recently had foot surgery so I am in hopes these will give me some necessary therapy that I wouldn't get walking in ordinary shoes in ordinary ways.
