Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Comfortable Winter Hiking Boot I got the Snowburban ultra dry's for an expedition to Iceland, my idea was that I wanted to fit a strap on crampon to a flexible lightweight boot because I was so tired of years of trekking around in heavy plastic double boot. It worked great, the crampon must be very flexible but your legs stay light & you can push for longer days with a lighter boot. What I didn't realize at the time was how comfortable they would be, they ended up being my primary snowshoeing boot & hanging around the yard shoveling boot. The most comfortable winter boot I have ever worn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boot, but design of metal eyelets are a disservice. I've recently just completed an intensive period of use with these boots- 30 straight days of almost daily use in varying snow conditions and terrain. The boots themselves are well constructed and I'm quite pleased with how they are holding up. Additionally they are quite comfortable to wear and I was pleased with a minimal amount of time needed to break in the boots. The only drawback to the design is the metal eyelets for the bootlaces. After about 30 days of use both laces on both boots were worn through. A friend has the same boots and had the same issue. I expect bootlaces to eventually wear out, but this is much faster than I'm used to. I'd suggest looking into a redesign of that component to prevent premature wear on the laces. Other than this issue with the laces this is an excellent boot and I expect to have and use the boot for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Withstood a 14er winter ascent Used for first time on an ascent of a Colorado 14'er. Starting temps around 20F, ending back at the car at 12k ft around 38F. Not much snow, but drifting had some areas knee-deep. A lot of 10 inch deep snow - just to the top of the boot. I was using pants that cinch down, not gaiters. Feet stayed warm and dry. Two sock system: poly liners, wool outer. Comfortable on the descent. Great ankle stability and traction. Upper lacing a bother to loosen and cinch down, but might be easier as they wear in.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking boot that needs improvement for cold weather use I bought a pair of these boots after much research on cold weather boots. I used them in Alaska, Svalbard and most recently in Swedish Lapland, all during winter months with decent snow pack. The bottom line is, these boots look good and should keep your feet warm but as soon as you are out 30 minutes in any temperature lower than -15 c, your toes will get very cold and it just moves across your feet if you don't get out of the cold and get the boots off. Also the area around the ankle is just too tight and finally, I've gone through two pair of laces and I've not worn the boots for a total of more than 2 months over three separate cold weather trips. I'd like to see Vasque make a solid, dependable arctic rated boot, this model is probably not suited for any more than trekking in late winter or early spring, with no heavy snow pack and temperatures above -15 Celsius.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot I bought these to replace another pair (different manufacturer ) of winter boots that gave up after many years of use. I purchased early this year, a pair of Vasquez hiking boots and have really liked them as I can hike for miles and my feet don't get sore...so when I saw theseSnowburban's...I figured I would give them a try. So far...so good. They fit great and I have many of the same compliments as my hiking boots. Haven't put them through the full rigors of winter yet ( been unseasonably warm this year so far...so more wet than snow so far) . Will update later...but very pleased so far...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bring on the MN Winter! Let me begin by saying this is the first review I've ever taken the time to write. As someone that works outside in the elements year round regardless of the weather conditions here in MN, this is not only a good boot but an outstanding one. I was given a new pair by a friend after a debate about the best boots for the job. He loved his but I wasn't convinced. That quickly changed and like others on the site, I'm here now looking to buy another pair not because there's anything wrong with mine but because if something did happen to them, I'd throw a fit. They're built extremely well and incredibly durable. They stood up to the constant salt. rock abrasions and deep mud that I threw at them on the daily basis. Regardless of temperature just a little activity and they work perfect. I'm actually excited for the cold so I can get these babies out of the closet. Go Vasque!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super Nice Boots I bought these boots before I went hiking through the Adirondack High Peak Region in November and I am really happy that I did. The boots arrived 2 days before I was set to leave and I was nervous on how they would perform without being broken in first. Vasque really did a job on these boots. I hiked 13.0 miles, 4,800ft, through streams, mud, ice and snow without any discomfort at all. My feet stayed warm and completely dry because of the UltraDry technology. Aggressive tread is great. Almost no slippage when walking on wet rocks and ice. Great ankle support. They are a little wide and bulky but, didn't effect performance or comfort. The Vasque Snowburban boot is comfortable, warm, light weight, and offers great ankle support.
