Rated 5 out of 5 by from A work horse! I actually own several large and regular sizes; had them for ever it seems. They are definitely bulky but worth the volume. My wife and I use them car camping with our cots for extra insulation. I also use one under my old Therm-a-Rest self-inflating mattress as protection from sharp objects. You never plan on a puncture, but it happened to me at the worst time. So now i carry the Ridgerest and an inflatable. Sadly my cat has clawed and chewed on all my RidgeRests, so they are shredded at the ends--inflatables would need patching of course. I love the light weight and indestructible qualities. The price is unbeatable too. I love this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Since 1999, still a great night's sleep! Bought the Ridgerest in 1999, and took it on a 3 month backpacking trip of the Western US. Slept on it every night, from boiling desert to barren mountain peaks. I always stayed comfortable, even when temps were well below freezing! Used it probably a full year of nights in the woods. Later, added the inflatable mattress, and stacked them both on top of a piece of plywood for nightly sleep at home. Perfect for my back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Since 2007 and still awesome! I'm a US Army infantryman and use my Ridgecrest solar for both work and play. My Ridgecrest sleep pad is almost ten years old now, been used countless times. The solar coating is a little worn but the pad still keeps me warm at night. It is suprisingly more comfortable than the older self-inflating sleep matresses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from solid reliable and versatile you can walk on them with crampons, great for heated yoga funny enough, as the traditional yoga mat will cause you to slide when wet. roll it up and put a trash bag in it and you have a trash can, there are many many uses, get creative and make even more out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect choice for cold climates when camping in my hammock in cold vt conditions I place the reflective side towards my body, it really helps the pad is light, rolls up small, hardly can tell its there but the added layer of comfort is well worth it when you want a good nights sleep

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super light! I've used this on most of my river trips and it has served me well! I mainly use it in my hammock. The only thing that could make it better, would be broader sections for the shoulders so that it isn't as cold!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfortable! I bought this a couple months ago and I absolutely love it! It's perfect for backpacking and it makes it easy to sleep anywhere off trail. It's an amazing product.

I like the large size, but can I trim the length without harming the integrity?

Asked by: Rodney
Altering the sleeping pad in any way is not recommended, since this could lead to the materials coming apart and would void all warranty on the item.
