I looked every where for this coat in a medium and absolutely no stores stocked it. I was told the best bet was to buy it from this site. I was skeptical of buying such an expensive jacket over a web site, but it truly is a great jacket. I am amazed at how warm this jacket is even though it feels like a summer jacket. The quality and functionality of this is unmatched and truly worth more then the proce tag.

OK, I've had down jackets in the past, but all had their issues--too short to keep you warm, weird hood that doesn't detach, no pockets, not thick enough for below-zero MN winters, etc, etc. This jacket really has it all--love the felt-lined pockets for days when you misplace your gloves...it totally covers your tush in the back...this jacket does not make you look like a petite Michelin Man. It is the perfect classic down jacket that everyone north of St Louis should have in their winter woredrobe--preferably in black. Though I am now eyeing the cute purple version and waiting for a sale...Sizing: I am a slim 4 or 6--xsmall was too small for me, but small was just right.
I absolutely love this jacket. I have wanted it for a few years and finally I got it as a birthday gift (december 2012). It is extremely warm, wind resistant and I have gotten so many compliments. I appeals to any shape. I am 5'3 and average weight but I have some curves. I have a skii coat with a shell but I have been wanting something I could throw on and walk to class, grocery store, etc. This is the coat for everything. I also wore it skiing on a day it was rather warm with a lack of snow and it was great for that. My friends have this coat and one wears it running and another wears it with jeans or dressed up. I appreciate the deals Moosejaw has on coats that are not as cheap!
I just received this jacket in the mail yesterday. I wanted to take a moment to write a review for the fit of the jacket because I had a tough time deciding if I should get the Medium or Large. I am 5' 8" and weigh 155 lbs. I went with the Large and feel that it fits great, it's not too snug that I won't be able to wear a sweater under it and it's not too bulky. The sleeves are also long enough that I will feel comfortable moving around. We have had unusually warm weather this week so I haven't had the chance to see how warm it will be. But so far I think that I will really be pleased with this jacket.
This is actually the second Nuptse 2 jacket that I have owned. My new 9 week old puppy chewed my last one to shreds last week and with winter quickly approaching, I knew that I could not go without replacing this one. I'm In college and since there isn't any nearby parking I have to walk to all of my classes, and I can honestly say that I have never been cold (my torso at least) while wearing the Nuptse 2. I would recommend only wearing this coat in very cold weather as it is really warm. I would definitely recommend this north face to anyone who wants to be comfortable in cold weather, but I have not and probably never will exercise in it due to it's bulkiness.
