This is by far the greatest winter coat I have EVER owned. I have a few other NF coats but this one was SOOOO warm during the freezing cold Chicago winter. I'm 5'9 160lbs and I'm glad I ordered an XL...I don't like the arms tight when I drive or sit down ....and the sleeves were actually long enough on me! I like that it has a zipper on the top & bottom...makes it easier to sit down or get in car. The hood is great for those super windy days when the wind chill freezes ur face while you unload groceries. Overall I highly recommend this parka....well worth the money!

Bought this coat for my daughter who was new to the Cleveland area / climate of harsh winter winds. She found this coat to be her lifesaver during long walks on college campus during strong (and cold) winter winds. Fit is true to other North Face apparel.. Also has all the quality and style of North Face. Worth the money, hands down would purchase this coat again!
I bought this jacket to keep me warm in my move from California to Alaska. I am 5'5" 140 lbs & ordered a Medium. It fits perfectly! Layering with this jacket isn't necessary. Anything more than a long sleeve and I'd get hot. I wear it between 0* and -50* & I love it. With my job I have to stand outside for an hour up to -20* & I LOVE the length of this jacket because it would kept my legs warm too. I like the extra piece of tight materiel at the bottom of the sleeves to keep the air from flowing in. It is a flattering fit although in the -30+ temps I wasnt too worried about that. Overall it is a wonderful jacket and I'm glad I spent the money on it. Not a single complaint from this customer!
I have live in Fla with little experience in cold weather gear.Cute leather coats etc.Trip in feb to Norway and the Arctic circle.It was freezing- pun intended. My NF Women's Arctic Parka was unbelievable. I was never cold in temps to 0 F but it still felt lightweight.Thecinchedwaist kept me from feeling like a stuffed sausage. If you plan on layering you might need a size larger than usual. I did order a larger size and it was fine. I chose this coat on the advise of my daughter who has one and lives in Chicago. Hers is 4 years old and looks like new. great coat and easy ordering.
I searched high and low for a heavy parka before a move to Chicago during the winter. I actually bought two different NF coats to compare and kept this one and returned the other. I got it in the wiemaraner brown, which is a really nice heathered medium brown. The coat is simply wonderful. The fabric is incredibly soft yet waterproof. I love the cuffs on the sleeves that keep the snow and wind out. I am 5'8" and 140 lbs and I got the medium. It's a little big on me, which I did intentionally so that I could layer underneath, but the coat itself is so warm that I don't find any layering to be necessary so far.

I bought this coat as something to wear as an everyday coat since its been so cold. I have been wearing for a couple of days and I love it!! Super warm and not as "blobby" as I thought it might be. I am 5'8" and weight 135 pounds, the medium fits great!! I wouldn't wear it to a meeting as its definitely a bit on the casual side, but it's going to be getting use pretty much every other winter moment! I would highly recommend if you need a super warm coat!
I just got this in the mail a few days ago. So far I have been impressed at the warmth- I walked outside today in -15 degree windchill and was not cold. Not bad!
This is a very warm coat, no need to wear bulky layers underneath but there is enough room to do so. The length is just right and the cut is slimmer than most coats. I'm not sure what the chest pockets are for since you can't really put anything bulky in there.
This coat was exactly was I was looking for!! Moosejaw was the only website that had my size/color choice, and it was on sale!! I'm 5'6, 127 lbs and got this coat in grey, size S. The fit is perfect - it doesn't look bulky, like a lot of down coats and there's plenty of room for layers to wear under. It's lightweight and the length hits perfectly right above the knee.It's fitted at the waist, so you don't end up looking boxy. I got it right before the Arctic weather set in and it's been keeping me super warm!! The overall quality is superb!! This coat is a must have to get you through winter!!
This parka is so warm!!! The shell is totally water repellent, which is perfect for snowing days. And I really love the design of TNF, which is almost the only brand that the hood size fits my head (it's so important to put on a wood in such a windy city). I'm so excited about this parka, totally 120% satisfaction!
