Rated 3 out of 5 by from Strong and stiff, but not cold proof! I have just spent 2 months in Peru (July/August, 2013), checking out its beautiful mountains and volcanoes. This said, I had the opportunity to try thoroughly some goods I had bought to this adventure.,,The North Face Windfall Glove is really strong and stiff. Very good for not getting worn out easily when used for hard work like holding an ice axe for long periods of time. But this glove cannot keep you from the very cold temperature just by itself. It's highly advised to wear a fleece or wool liner glove together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than these other reviewers tell ya I'm really surprised by these other reviews, and I'll the ya why. I went out for a hike the other day, and knowing the weather was going to turn to crap, I brought three pairs of gloves: some nice warm insulated ones, and these with a shell to go over them. The weather was much worse than I expected and I was 5 hours from the car when the temperature dropped from 35 to 20 and the mist turned into a blizzard. Once my hands got wet, I couldn't even put on the insulated gloves or the shell gloves. These slid right on, and even as they got wetter and wetter, even stopping to wring them out a time or two, my hands never got cold. I was extremely impressed; and damn thankful that I could work the tiny buttons on my keys when I did get back the car. These are great gloves, and at a pretty good price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm but not good in really cold weather I've had these gloves for a couple of months and they have been good in cool weather (30+ temps). Yesterday I was out in 15 degree temps shoveling snow for 20 minutes and my fingers were getting numb. I mean seriously cold. ,,,,The windbloc feature works great. I've never had a problem with the wind, but the cold cut right through them. ,,,,The gloves are well made and fit great, but look for something warmer in really cold weather.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cuts the wind, but not the cold... My poor fingers hate these gloves. They're wonderful at cutting the wind out, no question, but are they warm in any way? No! The gloves are comfortable and not tight like the other North Face gloves I tried on, but what they make up for in space they lack in warmth. The wind isn't a problem anymore, but the creeping cold still makes it through and in very cold weather your fingers will be frigid.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT a Winter Glove I wouldn't have gotten these if there'd been more reviews when I bought them. What's the point of wearing gloves unless it's yeti cold outside? These don't work for that. I needed warmth without bulkiness or restriction. But the cold (and more importantly, snow) cuts right through. Strange that the Windwall jacket works so well, and the glove version comes up so short. Go with something else.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great gloves but not for running I bought these for running because of the wind resistance. They do not breathe well and are quite bulky for running. These would be excellent for many other sports as they are quality and definitely keep the wind out but not for running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWSOME! Only used them 3-5 times but love the north face quality!
