Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeps you dry, fit is wide All and all this is a good entry level jacket, but do keep in mind that it is sized for the masses (boxy, wide). Also the length could stand to extended an inch or two.,,,,Pit zips are a must for this level of jacket and this one comes equipped. ,,,,The visor is nice, add a baseball hat and you're really in business.,,,,The liner is that mesh stuff, not sure how it will hold up long term, but it feels pretty nice and helps fight off the clams. ,,,,If you're looking for an entry level jacket for hiking that is going to keep you alive, this is a great choice. If you looking for something to wear around town, this is all you will ever need and more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waterproof I bought this jacket cause it claimed to be waterproof and it has a nice well made texture and fel to the jacket overall. I was caught in a torrential downpour in Boston a few months back and this jacket kept me completely dry underneath. I was wearing a light colored shirt and not one drop showed. On the other hand my fathers Timberland jacket let the water right in. In the winter I use this jacket as an outer layer with my other North Face jackets. works nicely I just ordered another on in black from backcountry.com as these are not available from amazon. If you need something waterproof lightweight and durable that rolls up into its own pocket this Venture jacket is great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Return it Based on others review I decided to give this jacket a try. ,,,,I went on a 2 week southern Italy backpacking trip in March (rainy season), and was sorely disappointed in this item. It's a cheaper material than other competitors similar items and I found this jacket to be cold. Also, it vented poorly which meant the dreaded hot and sweaty feeling. The sleeves were too short and I didn't like the fact that you must always have the hood out. The lack of an inner collar in addition to the hood was a huge issue for me. ,,,,I returned this item and got a competitors instead and I'm so much happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish, lightweight, and easily withstood pouring rain for 3 straight days I have nothing but great things to say about this rain jacket. It is comfortable, lightweight, and it breathes well when it's mild out. I intended to only use the jacket for rainy days here in Michigan, however I brought it along with me on a fly in fishing trip up in Canada and it was a life saver. For 3 straight days we were fishing in heavy rains, yet I was as dry as can be underneath the jacket. The water just beads off the material. When the weather finally broke, it packed up nicely in my pack. In all, I'd recommend this both as a casual spring jacket and for outdoor adventures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So light, so awesome. I am foreign, and we still call water proof outerwear "rain coats",,i was not too sure when I first placed the order. When I got the package it was awfully lighter than I am used to. . So with caution I opened the package and did not like how light this jacket felt. I had it shipped to work and guess what it started raining. I threw it on and walked out to my car, and the tire is flat. 30 mins later when i sat in my car and took this jacket out, my shirt was as dry as it just came out from the cleaners. Nice quality product from a quality company.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This thing keeps you dry, period. I love this jacket. I've been in drizzles and downpours with this thing and it has always kept me completely dry. I went a size bigger so that I could wear a fleece pullover under it, but it is still a bit baggy...no big deal The little touches like the chin fleece and the drawstring on the back of the hood are simple things that really make this jacket a great value. The pit zips make a huge difference and make the jacket tolerable to wear, even during a humid summer storm. It folds up really nicely into its own pocket. Great jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I didn't get wet! This jacket kept me dry on a moderately cold day in the city. It isn't very well ventilated, but I never felt really overheated. The small is a little bulky on my boyish frame, but it's a good size to throw over my warm down jacket should I encounter some freezing rain (snow?) type weather someday.,,,,I do have a hard time with the hood... It goes so low that it tends to cover my eyes. That's especially bad when I'm biking, but I can't attribute that to the coat. It's probably because of that charming boyish frame I mentioned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great buy, could have better hardware Overall I am extremely thrilled with this jacket. Living in Michigan we see hot, cold, windy, rainy, and snowy...often all in the same day. While this jacket is not lined, it does an exceptional job of keeping you "just right" temperature wise. The only thing that stopped me from rating this "Love it" are the zippers. Even though this is a lightweight jacket, the zippers and zipper pulls just feel flimsy. If you're going to be abusing this jacket you may want to look at something a bit hardier.
