I just received this jacket for my son. I love the attached hoodie. He looks super warm without being too bulky and will wear it 3 out of the 4 seasons. I ordered a size larger so he can wear it a little longer. It fits true to size, but even now doesn't look too big and baggy. He is very comfortable in it.
My 9 year old hates big, bulky, winter coats so we constantly fight about putting the coat on when it is 30 degrees. With the North Face jacket he is warm and there isn't any bulk. End of fighting. He loves it for so many reasons. As a mom, it has made my life so much easier. I bought one for my daughter now too. There is also a great name tag in the inside in case he leaves it out at recess.

I ordered XL for my 5'3'' and 125 lbs figure based on reviews from others. Although it is a little too big and blocky for my taste, I still like this jacket. I went for boys' instead of women's , because I thought I would enjoy the cut better, however, I tried on S women's and it is very cute! The jacket does not do a superb job of blocking wind nor repelling rain or snow. Thus, layer this or just use the jacket as your casual indoor jacket.
