The Sorel Men's Caribou Boot is the original and the best since 1972, earning a reputation for warmth, durability, and comfort. Constructed with seam-sealed waterproof nubuck leather and a vulcanized rubber shell with Sorel AeroTrac non-loading outsole, the men's Caribou boot can withstand temperatures as low as -40 degrees. The interior is crafted with a Sherpa Pile snow cuff and a removable 9mm ThermoPlus felt InnerBoot with a 2.5mm bonded felt frost plug to keep toes warm. "great winter boot" 03/15/13

I use these as my winter trip boots because the removable liner are great to dry over the fire at night. they do come big but i had no problems of walking in the snow with them, it was even useful so you can wear thick socks. Great boot and I love the new colors.

"Great snow boot - needs insole & more sizes" 01/02/13

Just got these as a Christmas gift, and the first thing that I noticed was the sizing. I had to order a size down from what I normally wear, but wish that they had half-sizes to get a really perfect fit. They are great in the snow, and incredibly warm, but I also ended up adding an insole in them to make them feel a bit more comfortable. For an all-around boot, I wouldn't necessarily point someone toward these, but as a "cold-weather" or "snow" boot, you can't get much better than the Sorel Caribou.

"Bought as a gift; he loves them!" 02/13/12

Best boots ever. I bought these for my husband (who has never had really good boots before) and we are insanely impressed by these. They fit him perfectly, the inside lining is easily removable, and best of all, even when wearing them for a full day in the cold, his feet didn't sweat uncomfortably in them. With the strange warmer winter we've had this year, he hasn't had as much of a need for them as we anticipated, but he's happy to have a long-lasting pair for future winters.

"They run big, but are TOASTY!" 01/31/12

Got a size 10, which is pretty much my universal shoe size, and they ran a little big. To fill the shoe out I just put on a pair of extra-thick wool socks and they fit snug. Haven't had much snow here in So IL but they stand up to the rain and cold nicely. My feet stayed toasty warm in the low teens! Great shoe, but I'd recommend getting a half size smaller.

"My feet are cold but yet so are my hands...." 01/03/12

I bought the blue ones and they look great but I was hoping they would be a little warmer... I am wearing them now and my feet are still cold and I'm indoors with smartwool socks on.Overall - I'd say buy them as they seem like a good solid boot that will last a long time unlike say a meijer look alike version. :) :) :)

"Finally time to replace" 10/25/11

Don't let the picture fool you, I bought the black pair. After 20 YEARS, I am actually replacing my original Sorel's. I'm still keeping the old ones, just going to keep them at the cottage to use there if I forget the new ones. The only reason I'm replacing them is the white fluffy stuff is worn out again and I felt like buying a newer model than replacing the insert again. It is really easy and affordable to get new inserts from the company, but I wanted something more newer. These boots are great and almost my whole family uses them. Warm, waterproof and great in light and heavy snow/ice. I bit heavy, but whats so bad with a leg workout while shoveling?

"Great but also disappointing" 03/02/11

So, the boot is fantastic. It is well made, durable, comfortable, warm, and stylish, However, be careful when ordering. I ordered a size 13 and it fits like a 14 or 15. These boots are massive. Almost fell as goofy as Ronald McDonald's looks! I recommend trying them on before purchasing them without a fitting. Also, since they are now made in Vietnam, they lack the "old school" quality they used to have when they were made in Canada. Most of my clients complain that the new boots don't last as long as their old ones. For the money, they cannot be beat. Just make sure you order the correct size.

"This is the grand daddy of them all." 12/29/10

Awesome boots. Remember those boots you had when you were a kid and they seemed to last forever? These are them. Awesome, bought them 4 years ago in undergrad and they are still the warmest things I own. They are very bulky and pretty heavy though as a warning. They also make driving a stick a little tricky at first. Other than that you are king of the elements trekking through any city to work in these bad boys.

"wet and worthless" 05/26/10

I tried these boots on my climbing trip in Alaska (Denali range but not Denali itself). The trip lasted 12 days and from day one - after a couple of hours using them - these boots were wet on the inside. Didn't get snow in them, I guess the snow just penetrated the outer layer. Don't believe I did anything wrong, was just crappy quality. Must admit that I did not spray them with water repellant before. Only tried these boots once (during this 12 day trip).

"Great boot for the long winters in the upper Midwest!" 02/08/10

Boots are extremely comfortable. Use them on a daily basis and for hours at a time. Great all around winter boot. Keep your feet warm and dry. Recommend to anyone looking for a quailty boot that will last a long time. Don't waste your time with cheaper boots that will need replacing after a winter. Spend the money on these and you will not be disappointed

"warm boots" 03/13/08

These boots are very work as long as you keep moving. Do not expect them to be hot if you are snowmobiling or standing around. Nothing will make you warmexcept foot warmers. For above zero temperatures these are overkill, I did snowshoe in these and my feet were sweating big time.
