The Giga Power Stove by Snow Peak. We have added a new member of the Snow Peak family of small gas stoves. The Lite Max is fitted with 3 arm supports designed to give effective protection against the wind and its rigid shape makes it usable under the harshest environments. But, let's not forget the stove that caused a wake in the backpacking community when it debuted in 1999, the GigaPower.

"Great stove!" 11/05/12

This stove can go from a low simmer to hold on mothertruckers cause we're boiling some freakin' water! It's very light, compact and will screw onto most of the name brand fuel canisters. Have been using mine for about 4 years and it still looks pretty much new, very durable.

"Light and Hot" 01/10/12

This is prob my fav lightweight backpacking stove for a few reasons. First it doesn't have a useless primer that adds an ounce. Then it burns hot and has a decent flame distribution. It has one of the most stable platforms with its 4 prongs. Most importantly it boils water fast in a titanium pot.

"Great little stove" 09/09/11

Boils fast and simmers ok, though I try and avoid having to do so, as it requires close attention. Definitely needs a windscreen, too, but a scrap of tinfoil works just fine. I never use large pots on this stove, so I've never had a problem with the stove being tippy or unstable. Plus the size and weight can't be beat. It performs just as well during non-winter months as my buddy's MSR whisperlite - for half the price.

"Power House" 08/17/11

I have used both a Jetboil and a Pocket Rocket, neither have anything on this beast. This is the best stove for the money. It is super stable, gets extremely hot and distributes the flame better than most stoves. It is super light and and slim but strong and durable. Then if you get the windscreen for this thing, it is boils water like a minute faster.

"Awesome stove" 07/10/10

I needed a lightweight, small canister stove and was between the Giga Power and MSR's Pocket Rocket. I borrowed a pocket rocket to test it out. It's flimsy and poorly designed. The 3 supports are weak and bend easily, and the burner torches a very small area, making it good for boiling water but nothing else. The Giga Power is built like a tank, and the 4 supports are more stable and stronger than the the pocket rocket's. The burner head throws a wider flame, so you can actually cook on it. It's a better quality piece of equipment and it shows. For 40 bucks this thing is unbeatable.

"Good for light and small trips" 10/11/09

This is a good little stove if you are looking to pack light. The one thing that I would suggest is bring your wind screen it only makes it boil quicker. Easy to start and quite reliable; have found it to be very easy to bring with you if you are traveling from hut to hut. The reason I say hut to hut is that you really need a flat spot to set it up, it can be tipsy if on uneven ground. Fuel I have found to vary depending on the trip, if you are boiling water two times a day it can last about a week but if you are serving gourmet meals good luck
