This is my first pair of smartwool socks. Cute & comfy but after wearing them out for the first time, I can see extreme signs of wear. I say extreme because I wouldn't have expected this to happen after the first time of wear. They're starting to "rub away" around the ankle area. It almost looks like when your favorite sweater gets pills, but these are long pills. I would guess that this has to do with my hiking boot, however, another brand of wool socks that I have, which I've worn at least twenty times, still looks brand new. So to recap, I think these are OK. Not the best, but they're so pretty and comfy/cozy. I plan on wearing them at home from now on so they don't get ruined.
I had high expectations for this sock. However, it is just okay. The fit is a bit strange. It is tight around the ankle and leaves marks, but at the same time, it is loose around the foot. I do not have this problem with other socks. It is warm, and breathability is okay, but I found that I like some of the other brands better than Smartwool.
Someone so kindly bought me a pair of smart wools for christmas and I can't say good enough things about them. The cushioning around your toes and heel helps to keep your feet comfortable all day especially the arch support. I wish I had these while traveling last year. It changes your whole shoe and sock game! Who wouldda thunk it? Get a pair, doooooooo it!
If you've never bought a pair of smartwool socks before, you simply must. Your feet will be so happy! As the owner of many pairs of smartwool socks, these are great because the design is more "dressed up" than their typical hiker sock. They are comfortable and they wash up great. I usually order up a size in smartwool socks, as they do seem to shrink a bit.
