"Great shoes once you survive the break-in period"
05/03/09
This a great shoe. Designed by the same guy who did the Sportiva Testarossas, they are very aggressively downturned. The amazing thing is that they stay downturned due to the way they've been designed and manufactured, unlike the Testarossas and Solutions which flatten out after a while. XS Grip rubber is super sticky and I'm confident on the teeniest of holds. The break-in period for these shoes is killer. In spite of this, though, I just bought my second pair of Rockettes, as I like them that much. I am a street shoe size 7 and fit a 37 in the Rockette. I fit a 35 in the women's Miuras.

"These Scarpa Rockettes perform amazingly on the rocks, hands down! Very snug, fits like a glove//"

I was debating between the rockette and the sphinx, but in the end, I chose these and am really happy with my decision. I was looking for a more aggressive shoe and the hooked, asymmetric angle of this shoe is wonderful for tiny footholds. My performance has improved a lot because a.)these shoes are more aggressive and b.)I got a fitted size this time. My foot is about 9 in. long and I bought a size 36. It is a pretty tight fit (a 36 1/2 would have probably been perfect), but I endured. Can't walk around in them, but the velcro straps make it very convenient putting them on and taking them off. I loved the stickers on and in the box when it was delivered to my house. Moosejaw rocks!

"Bring on the overhang projects, now I have footholds I can use"

This is my first pair of Scarpas. After hearing a friend talk on and on about his Mago's I decided to try the female version of the Booster which is a velcro version of the Mago. I knew that if Scarpa invested time and money on 3 different shoes for the same last that they must have struck gold. And I thank them for it. I don't have anything against lace-ups, but I boulder. I could probably get an EVEN better fit from the Mago's but honestly RIGHT out of the box the Rockettes felt like a glove. As soon as I was able to get my heel in sometimes it can be a V-3 to put shoes on then I felt the comfort. After about 2 weeks 3 days indoors and 3 days outdoors the toes uncurled a little bit
