I went through 3 reconstructive foot surgeries and my doc just give me his absolution to climb to tolerance AND with approach shoes. So, at the moment I got out of his office I was seeking for a pair of shoes. Reviews about Crux were good so I decided to order a pair based on the size of "too tight" Scarpa boots I've tried. Since then, I've climbed "to tolerance" (rock & plastic) and I'm impressed about their performances. They are confortable on a steep hike to get to the crag and if I tight my laces more I can climb everything my feet can accept which means a 5.9+ with "not-so-big" footholds. Not bad. There's one thing with fitting, the toe box is quite large, more than what I expected.
