This shoe met and exceeded my expectations. Great for a dash through the boulders or a run with the dog. Comfortable for all day wear, no break in period to speak of, surprisingly lightweight and truly waterproof. The lacing system takes a little getting use to but it is secure and a nice change from tying or adjusting every mile or so. I am going to buy a second pair for when these wear out. This is my first Salomon shoe and certainly won't be my last.
"Fantastic fit, super comfortable, true to size....bonus, they keep your feet dry!!! Duh!"
Great trail running/ light hiking shoe that performs like a champ! (unlike me) These are the third set of Salomom trail running shoes that I have owned and I've been totally happy with all three sets. I actually still wear the other two sets for messing around, as they are lacking the support they once had for jogging. Basically, run the Paint Creek Trail while in town and they perform great.....no problems. Try em', you'll like em'
"Well-Rounded Shoe. Durability is the only flaw."
First and foremost; I don't wear these year-round, but they do see quite a bit of use during the summer. I've had mine for four years, and they're great! My only complaint, and reason for me not ranking this product as "Love It!" is because my pair has hole on both sides of the toe crease..... Prior to the rips, the shoes were totally waterproof in ankle-deep water. I will likely get a few more summers out of my pair, granted that I am mindful not to go romping through the shallow water anymore. If you've got the gold, you've got a good product!
I believe that these shoes/boots/whatever are the most comfortable device you could put on a human being's foot. Lightweight, tough, and water resistant. They are great to play a long game of ultimate frisbee or go on a day hike. Suck it gravity, these shoes make you fly!But seriously, they break in pretty quickly, they do not smell, even after I have worn them for many hikes and recreational activities. It would be wise to read this review and then purchase these suckers because itz de best!
Great product! I'm am on my second pair since I discovered these shoes! Excellent comfort, lightweight and most definitely waterproof. I use these for everyday use, trail running, checking game cameras, and everything involved with the outdoors and the Gore-tex still still keeps my feet dry.
Dear Everybody-I am a Gore product tester and have had these shoes for over a year. This shoe is excellent. They keep my feet dry, provide a lot of stability, and have a cute little pocket to tuck your laces into. Seriously though, if you have chunky feet, they probably won't fit. At least on me, the Solomon's seem to run a bit narrower than other shoes. For me, it isn't tight, just cozy. Cozy that I like on a trail run- not cozy like a subway after a Yankees game. The styling is great and they have great traction. Others have commented on the soles going to quickly, but I have not had that problem. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

With the goretex exterior, there is not need to avoid puddles with this one. Comfort level is the best of any shoe I have ever worn. The zip tie system is great for someone on the go. The shoe tip is made of durable hard rubber keeping your toes very protected. I love this shoe but the only down side I can think of is that the loop on the back is a bit too high for a gator to hook on to.
Have been wearing these shoes pretty regularly as an everyday option in this very mild winter. In both walking around town, around work and around the elements when it finally dumped a foot of snow, they have performed as expected and are getting more comfortable as time passes. I am a little concerned about the longevity of the lacing system hence the 4 stars not 5, but feel I will discover this one way or another on an upcoming 6 month tour as I am taking these as my "all around" kicks.
This shoe is constructed really well. It fits true to size, but it is a bit stiff for my liking. I imagine this will loosen as time moves on. I have worn these casually over the last couple months so not a lot of wear on them yet. I own another pair of Salomen GTX shoe which is more comfortable than this and if I remember correctly was not as stiff in the beginning as these. Despite this minor annoyance, I do really love this shoe. I was attracted initially to the design/look of the shoe and primarily purchased because of that and my very good experience with the previous pair.
"These shoes are super awesome for any condition!"
I do everything in these shoes. Trails, check. Track, check. Rain, check. Comfort, check. Theses shoes do it all. The shoe runs regular on my foot, not too wide and not too narrow. I'm really flat footed and it took some time to get used to these shoes; however, these shoes, have never given me discomfort since I broke them in. I often sustain injury in other running shoes but not with these, so needless to say I'm super pleased with them. If you need a do-anything shoe to help you conquer the trails, streets or the elements, these are the shoes for you!
"Great shoe for running/hiking, breathable, good traction like tiger paws"
I have two pair of Salomon's trail shoe, XA Pro 3D Ultra and the Wings version. Both offer good traction, ample support without being stiff and breath really well. The XA Pro is my go to for fast hikes and light running but for harsher, rockier conditions the Wings have better cushioning although the waterproof version does not breath as well. That being said i did wear the lighter XA Pro down Kaibab Trail in Grand Canyon, rim to the river and back in 7 hours, therefore the shoe worked well leaving no blisters or discomfort on my feets!
