Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seam seal is a pain. I bought these bags to haul water from streams to my base/spike camps for water consumption needs in Colorado(washing dishes, filtration for drinking, cleaning, etc). They did the job, but rarely was I ever able to affectively seal the zip seams on these bags especially when my hand were wet and cold from filling them up with cold water. These bags are robust, foldable, and ultra light weight for back packing, but the seams are poorly designed for the practical hunter/camper. These bags require a significant amount of hand strength and dexterity to close in cold weather conditions, but they work really well IF and when you can seal them correctly

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needs a 'sidelock' closure, like the 'Big Zip'.. The top zip opens up at the drop of a hat. Not sure why, if you need the zip at the top, Platypus didn't make the handle like that of the Platypus Big Zip"sidelock" closure. Boom, you would have had an easy way to close it up and make sure it STAYS closed, and you would have your built in handle.. Not impressed with it as is.. Needs to be handles with an undue amount of care.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I love the idea, but... Love how compact this is for travel, however it is very difficult to close. If you are pouring and it isn't closed, you may lose a lot of water unexpectedly out the zip. we have started to zip it up and just fill it from the small opening. Needs something like the big zip on the hydration pack.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Closure not working correctly We got the 6 liter one and the top zip does not stay closed. We have difficulty in gettint the zip to work at all. we went camping for 3 weeks and had to be very carefull whenever we tried pouring water as the top would unexpectedly open. Many times, just carrying with the handles would force the bag to open

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't get to close properly Sturdily made but zippers are too difficult to get closed. Come open when containers are even partially filled with water.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice idea, but... The good-it holds 6l of water, you can see what you have. The bad--the zip feature does not stay shut so it releases water at inopportune moments (when pouring, carrying, sitting in camp, etc).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty Zip Closure I used our Platypus 6.0 L Water Tank for the first time while camping in Big Sur this week. Ended up with wet gear from tank opening accidently. Couldn't reclose Zip on Water Tank afterward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to close, durable, no taste or smell I bought this to carry ice in a cooler (and perhaps for backpacking and canoe tripping). Keeps the cooler contents dry and the ice water is available to drink. Will hold most, if not all, of a 10 lb bag of ice cubes (depends on the size of the cubes). I found the bag easy to open and close with my hands when both bag and hands were wet and ice cold. Much easier than my older Platy Big Zip bags where I have to use my teeth/jaw to close. Perhaps the design has changed (?) as I read the reviews before buying and was prepared for the closure to be difficult.
