"Solid construction, smooth operator! GET IT." 05/09/12

The Basic Ascender by Petzl is very useful, dependable and simply put a must for my arsenal. A bit bulky if you're looking to slim down on every single gram of weight, but not bad if you're not concerned about that. Solidly built, easy to use, smooth operation makes this piece a winner in my eyes. So stop trying to figure out which ascender to get. They all do the same thing, but I'd recommend this bad boy. GET IT!

"Many uses for a little product" 09/25/10

I perfer to use an ascender with a handle but you can't beat the small size and easy use. As always getting the little sucker off with one hand is kinda hard but is possible. Makes a really nice load lock for various climbing and tree climbing needs.
