The Attache Screw-Lock Carabiner by Petzl is compact, lightweight and easy to handle making this the perfect device for multi-pitch climbing and mountaineering. This climbing carabiner was designed for easy use when belaying with a manual lock to make climbing more enjoyable. The pear shape facilitates use with the Munter hitch for single ropes. The innovative Keylock design is recommended for dirty environments where dust and dirt could cause an automatic locking mechanism to malfunction. When your hands and forearms get so tired you can barely open a granola bar, you won’t have an excuse like "oh I think dirt is getting my ‘biner jammed."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyways. Hey Moooooosejaw! Just a note actually I'm gonna use letters from our English alphabet. Notes here would make no sense unless you can read music. Anyhoo, as I was saying, I am the envy of my friends all three of them since purchasing those handy dandy carabiner thingies. Still waiting to use them tubing on the Muskegon River. But for now, they look pretty cool hanging from my Deuter pack in the camping room. I suspect no one on the river will be using anything even close to a Petzl Attache Screw-Lock Carabiner to drag their beer along with the current. So, if you happen to be tubing in July on the Muskegon, and see a couple cases of beer being pulled along with a shiny new thingy, g

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ehh... Not impressed. If your working with gloves on or got big hands, you might want to look elsewhere. I find the design hard to hold with bulky gloves at a belay station, and if your an ice climber like me, this is important. I almost dropped this three separate times because it wants to come out of your hands like a bar of soap in the shower. They did a good job at making it easy to screw and unscrew with gloves on, but people with big hands or bulky belay gloves beware, if your a Petzl groupie go for their william locker. Its got a big opening, easy to manipulate with gloves, etc...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great product I bought a few of theses because I didn't think they were popular. Low and behold, everyone had 1 or 2. I liked the fact that I could feel them in my hand, I didn't have to look down or look at it. It fit my hand great and it is easy to hook in with.,, A great feature is the red line to let you know that it is not locked. If you see red, spin the lock to secure.,, I did notice that after a little use, in belay or when running a rope through it, the color will wear away and you see the silver color. I thought this was a problem at first but it is not harmful in any way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great general purpose locker, especially for the price! I have used this for belaying, rappelling, building anchors, and everything in between. It is great for everything. The size is good without being too bulky and the key lock nose is super smooth. the red band on the gate is also a good visual reminder as to whether or not the gate is actually locked. The locking part of the gate is nice and big so it should be easy to use with gloves on or for those that just want a carabiner easy to use. The round body is also nice since rope feeds over it smoothly. For the price, it really can't be beat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all-around locker and it works nicely for rigging. These carabiners are nice. They work well for rigging because of the rounded surface (cross-section) of the metal, this allows the rope to move over the carabiner as smoothly as possible. They're a little small to be a full HMS 'biner for use with a münter, but it can be done. These do discolor a bit quickly when you're using them heavily (e.g. multipitch rope work) where the heat from friction between rope and metal causes the bright gold to become a slightly less saturated gold. That's nothing to worry about though, they're great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and solid but not the lightest These are super solid biners, great for top rope setups (an opposite-facing pair...don't be lazy, be redundant). They are also some of the best biners for smooth belaying. I own two of these and several of the 3D model. The 3D weighs 30g less and still runs smooth. 3Ds are my main locking biner for trad along with the Mad Rock Ultratech Screwgates (which are cheaper but not as versatile). You can't go wrong with the Attache, but you can go lighter. For the price they're 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Belay Carabiner If you're looking for a belay 'biner, buy this one. When I bought an ATC guide, I was annoyed with it. It locked up really easily, making it difficult to pay out slack. A friend suggested that I try his attache instead of my giant steel belay 'biner. Totally different belay! ,,,,A little small for double-rope rappels or anchors, but it's the best belay carabiner on the market. The color Moosejaw sent me is pretty different from the picture (blue hera climb4life), but who cares?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Smooth.......Just bought a few more. I primarily use this biner for my belay anchors. It removes all doubt that it is locked with its visual aid. If you see RED, take another look at it because its not right. Because no one wants to see red. I am a huge fan of the smooth biners because they are a little easier on the ropes. It is a few more grams to carry around, but I really don't mind for the ease of use. It also locks really easily, making it my choice when I need to lock in a hurry.
