The Patagonia Women’s Slim Insulated Powder Bowl Pants are a waterproof ski pant for a day on the slopes. The slim fit runs close against the body, with room for a base layer underneath. To keep you warm on the chair lift, 60g of Thermogreen insulation traps the heat. No need to fear deep powder or landing on your butt, the Gore-Tex 2-layer fabric is waterproof and a durable water repellent finish helps bead up any water droplets so they can roll right off. Elastic grippers keep the gaiters in place so snow won’t sneak into your boot and scuff guards protect the pants against sharp edges. When you hit the lodge for a break, open up the thigh vents for a quick release of excess heat.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.
If you haven't heard of GORE-TEX by now, you've probably been living under a rock. And that would make sense, because living under a rock is probably the only place where you wouldn't need the durable waterproof and windproof protection that GORE-TEX fabrics offer. So when you're ready to venture out from under your rock, arm yourself with the comfortable protection of GORE-TEX.
