"My go to winter coat!" 04/19/13
Bought this last year before going to Switzerland for a ski trip and so glad I did. I was warm and toasty, I even ski'ed in this. I get compliments all the time because this puffer actually gives you some shape and the red color was beautiful. Despite the price tag, it is worth every cent and washes up nicely.
"LOVE this coat" 02/11/13
I bought this coat in the moss and the color is much prettier in person. The length of the coat is great. I got a small and it fits pretty true to size with room to fit thick sweaters underneath. It has a nice fabric. I haven't tried it in the rain but it seems to keep out wind pretty well. This isn't my coldest weather coat but it definitely does the job in the 20's. My only complaint is that the arms are a little too long, but I am short so if you are of normal height this may not be a problem for you, and that the wrists aren't cinched and lets in a breeze if your not wearing gloves.
"another fabulous Patagonia coat" 05/17/12
I bought this for winter work travel purposes. I would rate this coat good to 32 degrees F if you're not wearing anything more than a cotton shirt under it. It's pretty wind resistant, but wouldn't wear it in coastal winds. I wore it at -20 degrees F with a cotton shirt underneath on a March nightly stroll in Fairbanks, Alaska and remembered that cute doesn't always cut it. It get's the Big Ups rating from me for being a well-packed down coat that actually looks flattering and can be worn to moderate winter temps. I'll keep it as my winter work coat and use my wooly items for subzero activities.
"Gorgeous AND warm? Sold..." 01/15/12
My Babe just bought me this coat and I LOVE it! Sleek, slim fit and with just enough room to wear a winter sweater or fleece underneath if I want. I'm a size 10 in jeans, 36DD. I was torn between sizes, went w/ Large because of chest room. That seems to be the determining factor. Shawl collar is adorable, puts a little upscale flair to it. Overall, this is great coat for the days when you don't want to put heels on but still want to look cute! Thx Patagonia (and Babe)!!

"I returned it because of hood" 01/10/12
This would be 5 stars if the hood were removable or at least not so bulky. The coat itself is very flattering and looked great on. Not bulky at all. However, I could not deal with the shaw like hood. It was too bulky around my neck. If it was removable that would have made the coat fantastic. So if you don't mind bulky hoods, this is a great coat. its a great length. Long enough to cover your butt but not too long to make driving uncomfortable. Sad to need to send it back.
"The best winter coat I've ever worn!!" 01/07/12
This coat is the best! It's VERY warm and cozy. Perfect for walking around the city on bitter cold, windy days. It has a nice slimming look- finally a down coat that doesn't make you look like a stuffed sausage! I think Patagonia runs a little big compared to other brands. I'm 5" and 110 lbs and small is usually too big, especially in the arms and shoulders. I bought a small in this coat, and it's just perfect when I have a sweater or sweatshirt underneath. A great buy, you won't regret it!
"Hip hot n rockin" 12/25/11
It's great! Super flattering, warm, leaves room for layering. Great length: covers butt, sleeves are a nice lengththickness is PERF lightweight!BUTthe snaps are kind of tight and loudthe hood has no draw cord and is super poofy
"A great jacket!!" 12/23/11
I got this last year before leaving to live in Minnesota. It is wonderful!! Warm enough for all but the coldest of days (when it works fine with some additional layering), but attractive enough to be appropriate in formal-ish settings. The pockets work as great handwarmers, and there is plenty of room for layering underneath. My one problem is that the hood is pretty much useless. It is too big to really keep you warm, and there is no way to adjust it.
"Warm, excellent fit" 12/13/11
I tried on lots of down jackets before finally deciding on this one. It has been a great jacket. Quite warm. Hood is great for extremely cold temps. Some down jackets make you look like a poof-ball, but this one fits nicely. Highly recommend.
