I wanted to get this last year and finally purchased it in Forge Gray this year. The color was the perfect shade of dark gray, the fabric was great and the quality was perfect. However...it just fit weird. I'm 135lbs and 5'3" and the length was perfect (not too frumpy) in the size 8, bit it just seemed to sit weird on me. I think it would work better for someone with a longer torso, since at the length it was it sat just below my bellybutton, which made it look funny. You could see the bumps of the buttons and pockets through my shirt, and the crotch section kind of bunched. It made my butt look great, but for the price I decided it just looked too weird in the crotch/waist to keep it.
I saw this skirt last year when I was pregnant and almost cried because I couldn't buy it. Yes, totally lame, but that's what hormones will do to you. Okay, so now I could finally justify buying it. Here's my thoughts: it fits loosely, it's a bit on the short side (my inseam is 30"), but it is the most comfortable item of clothing I own right now. I can't wait to wear it with tights this winter. Like all Patagonia's clothing, the stitching is immaculate and I'm sure this skirt will hold up to all the abuse I have in store for it. It's not exactly adventure wear, but for casual or light hikes, I can't think of an item of clothing I'd rather have.
