The Patagonia Men's Ultralight Down Jacket is a super lightweight down jacket for use as a mid-layer or alone on a more mild, dry day. The minimalists of the hiking and climbing world rejoice, with Patagonia's lightest down jacket, packed full with 800 fill power goose down. The 800 fill down allows you to pack the jacket down super small, into it's very own stuff sack for travel, clipping to your harness, or just later use. The jacket is equipped with three zippered pockets, two of the usual hand pockets and a single chest pocket. The outer shell is a 100% nylon ripstop fabric, super tough for the outdoors and finished with a durable water repellent to shed light rain and snow.

Men's Fit Guide Details & Info

Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.

Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.

FORMFITTING
• Conforms to the body's contours.

SLIM FIT
• Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

REGULAR FIT
• Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.

RELAXED FIT
• Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmth to weight is excellent I like this jacket because it packs down extremely small in your pack, weighs very little, and packs a surprising amount of warmth for its size. I found myself picking this over the much bulkier Phantom 800 jacket (MH) just because it takes up so much less room and is almost as warm. Its a must if you plan on layering up on your next backcountry trip or need a jacket "just in case" it gets cold on your next alpine summer adventure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super nice! I have received a few compliments on this jacket. I either get the "oh damn, that jacket really works for you" or the "are you wearing your sisters coat?" either way, I keep warm, so i really could care less. The jacket is super light, and comes with its own stuff sack. I am 5'7" and about 170 and wear a large, which fits kind of loose around the waist, but any smaller and it feels like an anaconda is constricting around my shoulders. Also, the lemongrass color is a little feminine, but as stated previously, who really cares, as long as you are warm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Piece, It's Major Attribute Though Is As a Layer The Ultralight is awesome when it's in the 40's without a lot of wind. Weighs virtually nothing. Looks good, what the others have said. And, it hasn't been as sensitive to abrasion or tearing as I first feared, but still be careful. ,,,,Where the Ultralight really performs though, is that as long as your exterior layer is not form-fitting, you can layer this little jacket in between base layer(s) and exterior layer, and get another 15 to 20 degrees with virtually no weight or the irritating bulk you get with pile or wool. And it comes with a little stuff sack for stowage. Really nice to fine tune your insulation on the fly like this, urban or wild. I first tried this concept with the Patagonia down jacket, and it was just too thick between my base layer(s) and say a Patagonia Primo Down or Canada Goose Langford, and down hugged my arms etc., but the Ultralight is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best jacket for warmth and lighweight comfort I live in NYC and this jacket is perfect for fall and winter weather. It's super light and compact. Despite it's light weight, it is filled with high quality goose feather which provides a high level of warmth. Prefect as an outer layer that blocks wind while retaining heat. Even in 30-40 degree weather I can get away with this jacket on top of some layers (light sweater, etc.).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super light, super warm, super shiny I bought this jacket as an insulated layer for a bigger puffy jacket. The idea was that together they would be warm enough for sub-zero temperatures, but I wouldn't be saddled with one enormo jacket that might be too warm for the warmer-cold temperatures. ,,,,In the end, I wore this jacket much more often than the bigger jacket, because this one is so light and warm. You can't believe how warm it is, because it weighs almost nothing. I read that it had a "slim fit," but I found that it fits true to the other Patagonia down jackets (the Nano, the sweater, etc.). For me, Patagonia jackets run big - I bought this in a Medium and still have some room, even though in most other brands I am a Large. ,,,,This jacket packs up into nothing, and comes with its own little stuff sack. I got mine in black, and it is VERY shiny. It's probably too shiny for me to wear on a regular basis, but maybe you're looking for something with a little flare. Either way, I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME JACKET! The first time I saw this Patagonia jacket was on my uncle, it looked super warm and comfortable. I knew at that moment I had to get myself one ASAP. It is slim fit so it's totally a bonus when it is a snug fit! Definitely invest into one of these Patagonia jackets it's worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lightweight Jacket Great jacket at a premium price that is well worth it. If you're looking for a lightweight jacket that will keep you warm, this is one that I would truly recommend. I compared other jackets and went with the Patagonia one for the 3rd pocket that doesn't compromise the weight at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat The fit is a little tight for my taste, but it has been a bomber addition to my gear cache. I am 6'2" and about 180 pounds with excessively long monkey arms, which is why I feel like the coat is a little tight. Definitely a must have for folks that spend a ton of time outside.
