"Good, lightweight jacket." 04/20/13
I had earlier model (original w/ h2no emblem decal instead of sewn) but I left it down at my GF's grill at her apt and never saw again – not too nice folks there I guess. Got this. pros and cons-new ones lighter, but also a different stiffer material-always has odd, rigid shape and makes a lot of noise when you bend or move or anything. The old jacket breathed great when sleeves werent velcro'd at wrist (pretty much had to, they were long). This one doesn't breath as well, but the sleeves are a better length (I have the medium and 33.5" arms) so i don't have to. prob a better trade off in the end as far as I'm concerned. All-in-all great jacket to keep in your car for just in case
"A great all round rain shell, which looks great too." 03/17/13
Bought as an xmas gift for my brother. he really loves it and wears it all the time. It also gets double use as if you choose the right colour it is fashionable enough to wear in the city due to it;s simple design and great fit. He is 5"10, 150 pounds, 38" chest, 32" waist and medium fits him well.5/5 for waterproofness 4/5 for breathability5/5 for style points5/5 for function4/5 for valueoverall 4.6/5
"the very best hardshell jacket I evey have!" 03/09/13
I used have several hardshell jacket, including on with Gore-Tex fabric, but none of them better than this one.the H2No & DWR tech is really awesome, keep this jack always clean & dry but very breathable. in the other hand, also light-weight in the sametime, no wonder Torrentshell became "the best selling jacket of Patagonia".BTW, I also brought another one as a gift for my friend, he love it very much.
"Perfect Jacket for breathability and movement..." 02/14/13
this is a great product with great breathable feature and great range of movement...The great think is I purchased a Medium and it seemed a little tight...was able to exchange at lightning speed. This company (MooseJaw) rocks....
"Made me an abolute fan of H2NO" 01/18/13
This jacket seriously holds it's own in heavy rain and thunderstorms. All rain gear needs pit vents in my opinion and the Torrentshell has them. I thought at first they could be bigger, but after use in storms, I realized bigger would let in water. This jacket has a pretty close, but not restrictive fit. I'm 5'10" and went for the large. It fits well and I can easily wear a base layer and a low bulk fleece layer under it. It breathes surprising well for a rain jacket. Makes an outstanding year round rain coat. Packs tiny and weight is feather light. I keep one in the car and one in the pack. This has become essential gear for me.
"Great fit. Great Jacket" 01/16/13
Just got mine in the mail the other day and have used it at work all week. Keeps me dry with all of the rain we have had recently. Fits great and looks really good too. It also packs down nice and small into it's own pocket. I am happy with my purchase and would absolutely do it again. And as always, great and fast service/shipping with moosejaw. Thanks.
"This is a great jacket that will keep you dry, hood stays on even in the wind" 12/15/12
Love this jacket, it is my favorite rain jacket, the hood is large and keeps me dry. I also like the length of the jacket, it is a bit longer than the north face one I had previously. I highly recommend this jacket.
"Exceptional Quality and Perfect Fit" 11/18/12
Unlike other Patagonia products I have purchased in the past, this jacket is a true to size fit. I am 6'2" and about 195lbs. I purchased the size Large. The Torrentshell is not bulky, the sleeve length is perfect and the overall length is about perfect. Other brands I tried on were either too long in the torso or too bulky. This one was a perfect fit for me. I have worn the jacket in multiple downpours and have kept incredibly dry. Great on a trail and equally as impressive for my city dweller lifestyle. The functionality, ventilation, quality and weight of the jacket is outstanding. I hope to enjoy it as much as I do now for years to come.
