Patagonia has done a fantastic job with this particular piece. I'm 5'11'' 145lbs and went with a Medium. I tend to prefer more athletic (trim) fitting garments and this jacket fits perfectly for my taste. The jacket performs quite well from 30 degrees with a light base layer to 60 degrees in active pursuits. Interior fleece is soft and the exterior allows the jacket to move freely under a hard shell. All zippers are easy to open and close with or without gloves.
This is a good product, but I dont know if I would buy it again. I dont get very cold and this is usually overkill if over a base layer or under a shell. I still like it, i just don't know when to use it. If I got it again I would get the hoody, and I would use it when if it was very cold, as insulation, or a stand-alone over a cap 1 on a super windy, otherwise dry day. Lighter than a R1, and more versatile, but with my current pieces I havent found a time to pull it out other than walking around.
