"I layer this parka over my R1 hoody and micro puff, and am still comfortable moving at -40 degrees"
04/06/13
My wife and I each got a Das Parka two winters ago, with plans to take them on our Denali trip. We moved to interior Alaska two winters ago, and have had many opportunities to wear them. For snowshoeing, it's PERFECT. It stuffs as small as my Micro Puffy jacket, and keeps me plenty warm during the breaks, even at forty below! It's definitely not a stand-alone parka, but a great final addition to the layering system. At high camp on Denali, we waited for three days at minus 25 degrees F with 25 - 35 mph winds, before we got a summit day. This parka kept me plenty warm while maintaining and improving our snow walls, and during trips to the "outhouse"
