The Patagonia Men's Cedars Jacket is made with the outdoorsy man in mind. It's made of soft durable fleece so you're warm when the sun goes down. The zipper has a wind flap and zipper garage so everything stays put when the wind is practically blowing you off your feet. Three zippered pockets keep your hands warm and your stuff won't fall out. The seams are designed to add less bulk, so you can layer it easily. I like layers, especially when it comes to cake. And blankets. And onions.

"Well made with quality materials--about ideal for an indoor work setting or for a mid-layer."
I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality: materials and construction. The varied colors are not simply dye changes, they are fabric changes. The fabric presents as a higher quality fleece and/or supple nylon (yoke/pockets). The stitching that joins the pieces is impressive for its triple weld and precision. The "jacket" is more along the lines of a light to light-mid-weight sweater with slightly more interior lining/insulation in front than on the sides or back (core warmth with breathe-ability). Pocket interiors are mesh -- light duty. Here on the high plains (wind and cold) it is not an outdoor single piece candidate. But it is surprisingly warm for its weight and as an indoor, move between buildings, or mid-layer piece it works great. I am 5'10" 170 lbs and the medium fits as I like them...ever so slightly form fitting (as opposed to loose).
"Perfect transition weather coat in spring/fall if you like brussel sprouts."
This coat is made of wonderfully soft fleece. It feels like a 45 day old kitten. Its got a super solid wind flap on the inside and the nylon on the shoulders sheds rain like a nascar pro. This jacket runs a little small in just about everywhere. I'm usually an XS in Patagonia but had to upgrade to a small in this one so I could get a girlfriend. Overall Great jacket by Patagonia. Don't miss out.
