DECENT FEATURES of the Patagonia Half Mass Bag

Main flap opens to largest compartment housing one drop pocket, one mesh pocket, one padded electronics pocket, and three slots for pens exterior, zippered pocket on flap has moisture-shedding reverse coil zipper
Interior padded computer sleeve raised off the ground cradles most 15" laptops and secures with a buckle and strap
Front flap has reflective panel and a webbing bike-light mount
Side-mounted water-bottle pocket
Interior drop pocket secures with hook-and-loop tab for quick access to boarding passes, magazines or newspapers
Fully adjustable shoulder strap with floating pad, three-point adjustable stability strap and top-side carrying handle

"Awesome! THis is the second one I ordered." 03/12/13

This bag is awesome. I use it as my commute bag. I love it so much I ordered one for my sister to use as a diaper bag. The handle is super convenient as well as the exterior water bottle pocket and the small exterior pocket on the top for keys, wallet, phone. (Timbuk2 bags do not have these three features. This is what puts this bag on top of the messenger bag list!

"Nice, multifunction messenger" 03/01/13

I purchased this bag for my wife for Valentine's Day after visiting the Patagonia store in Breckenridge Co. My wife was looking for a functional purse that she could also carry her camera and iPad in. This is it. Plenty of room for all of her essentials and still plenty of room left over for her T4i, an extra lens and the iPad. The internal bungy pockets keep all of the important thing organized and in their place. The large bungy pocket is absolutely perfect for securing a spare camera lens as well. Decent protection against the elements as well.

"Great Bag!! Perfect for any scenario!! You can always trust Patagonia." 02/13/13

Love this Bag! I have a 15' mac, and fits perfectly. It hold the computer off the ground in a suspended / padded compartment. Main storage is big enough to hold my rain jacket, lunch, umbrella note pad and 2 books. I have my MooseJaw Water bottle in the side drink hold. Like the organizer for pens, cell, and keys. Hard to disapprove or dislike anything Patagonia puts out there. Would buy again.

"Great Product" 11/26/12

Purchased the Deep Plum with the matching Nalgene water bottle for my wife. At first she was using it back and forth to school. The bag was plenty big enough to secure a 17'' lap top as well as our 13'' Mac. Both fit comfortabley and secure. No we are aexpecting a child and this bag will also serve as our diaper bag as well. Plenty of space as well as many pockets

"Almost Perfect" 01/25/12

I was very excited to find a messenger bag that looked good and would accomodate a 17" laptop, however it barely fits one of my laptops. The curve in the base of the bag does not allow my laptop (an older dell) to reach the bottom and the laptop sits too far up to have the strap secure the computer ( it did not fit my roomates laptop, a newer Dell). Other wise it is great, the water bottle pocket will fit a 32 oz. Nalgene bottle YAY!

"Best D@mn Bag on the Market" 12/18/11

Love this thing. Have had it for nearly three years now. Got sentimental and decided I should show some appreciation. Abused this bag pretty hard and heavy, and it has yet to rip, tear, puncture, run, or fray.

"This bag is AWESOME!" 08/09/11

I recently bought this bag after buying two different sizes of the north face base camp messenger bag and I must say it is by far the better bag. In my opinion it is the perfect size, and is put together very well. It has plenty of pockets and enough space for a 15" laptop, or a few text books.
