Measuring Guide & Fit Styles

To get the most accurate measurement, use a flexible measuring tape and use the measuring guide info below.

• CHEST / BUST - measure under your arms around the fullest part of your chest.

• WAIST - measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.

• HIPS - measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.

• INSEAM - choose a pair of pants that fits you well and is true to size, hitting at the top of the foot. Measure the inseam from crotch seam to the bottom of the hem.

• GLOVES - for the circumference measure around a flat hand at the knuckles, but do NOT include the thumb. For the hand length measure your hand from the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger. Use the larger of the two measurements to select your OR glove size.

• HATS - measure around your head where the headwear would be expected to fit comfortably.

The OR fit styles detailed below are determined by intended usage and sport-specific design. All OR outerwear and apparel is categorized into one of these fit styles. You can find more info about the fit of a style in the product FEATURES or SPECIFICATIONS.

• TRIM FIT - close-cut apparel that moves with the wearer.

• STANDARD FIT - a looser fit for comfort in both technical and casual apparel.

• RELAXED FIT - baggy-cut layers designed for the wearer to move within.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outdoor Research Ferrosi ,,I'm 6'1" 185lbs and typically a large from companies with a more generous cut (Patagonia, Mountain Hardwear, Marmot etc) while I often have to move up to XL in an athletic cut like Arcteryx. The large is very comfortable with a base layer, just loose enough.,,
I am intending to use this as a casual jacket around town in the summer as well as backcountry use, so I wouldn't mind a bit baggier fit. I tried the XL and the fit was really pretty good for this purpose, but the cuffs on the sleeves were too large. So, sizing up for a less athletic fit doesn't work too well with this garment. ,,
Loving it around the house, so I'm excited to see how it handles the elements.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get away from zombies safe and dry. I think this jacket is great. I have used it rock climbing when windy and cold, the fabric is tough and does not barely even scuff. Through several downpours for and hour or so and stayed dry, not gore dry, but it did just fine. Over all it works for light layering, range of motion and keeping wind and water off of yourself. It also packs super small. I would recommend it to any of my enthusiast friends, and already have for many. Only thing, dont pull the hood too tight, I had to replace two of them because the drawstring broke. I would replace it 5 more times if necessary though, just to give you an idea of my feelings on the technical capabilities of this pice. 14ers involved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket at a great price I've taken this jacket on several hikes and camping trips. It works well in rain and windy conditions. It's pretty waterproof although it's listed as water resistant. I haven't been in heavy torrential downpour to test out the waterproofiness so I can't speak to that. When it gets colder you cinch up the hemcords and it works great to keep the warmth. The only thing you have to be careful on is the sizing. This jacket runs a little tight/slimfit, which was actually perfect for me. However, if you're trying to layer up under this, or are of a stocky breed, you may want to size up. I bought a small, and I'm 5' 8" 143 lbs. It's pretty slim fitting on me. It's a perfect fit on me. If I have more than 2 layers underneath i really can't put the jacket on without it feeling super snug. If I had to do it all over again, I may get a medium, but probably not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product - BUY THIS NOW ! Too bad it's July and I won't get a chance to really put this to the test for another couple of months, but we just had a couple of unseasonably cool nights in the mid 50s so I gave it a try doing some late night biking and walking around town. Fit is perfect, was kinda worried about this since I ordered xl before reading other reviews, but fit was what I was hoping for even if there is a little bunching at sleeves, (6' 185 lbs). Strech is just right for any activity that I'll be using it for. Very nice comfortable barely there feel to it. Nice bonus is the 2 inside mesh pockets Suitable for 7-9 tablets or gloves/hat or whatever else you can't do without. Chest pocket is a little small, but my Iphone fits perfectly. Looking forward to ordering more when Blue and Green get back in stock in my size.,, Special thanks to Moosejaw for including Tom's toothpaste with order and the popsicle, (melted by arrival, but stick is excellent to stir coffee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go-to 3 and 4 season active outer layer This simple design offers reliability and performance for any outdoor activity. I wear this on summer trails in the morning and evening chill. In fall and spring, this is my all day outer layer due to it's wind and water resistance, and excellent breathability. Depending on temps, around camp it keeps the summer night chill out too. This is not a warm piece by any means, but used as smart layering contributes to warmth and comfort. Style for me is important, and this jacket looks 'da bomb', too. My 6ft, 180 lb frame wears the medium snuggly and it just feels right - on and off the trail. If you've ever had that piece of clothing that just makes you feel good - this jacket / hoody / shell is one of those pieces, to me. The stretchy fabric deflects water very well, is tough and it all packs into a small pocket. The hood is scuba diver style, the design even goes as far to angle the zip away from the chin so it doesn't catch beards and stubble. Absolute Top Drawer piece of gear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thin, but Great This is a very thin soft shell, but a piece I always pack with me. It's breathable, light, durable, and water resistant. I wear this over a base layer or fleece or even a light down sweater in colder temps. Very versatile. The hood is a bit close fitting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great softshell, stylish and performs Feels uber light and comfortable on and smoothly stretches with movement. Have worn in rain and has kept me dry. Not super warm though but this can be a plus as I wear it on cool to warm days just cause it feels good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High Quality I use the OR Ferrosi in light rain, on windy days and layered for spring skiing. The fabric is very tough and stretchy and wears very well. The snug hood is great with or without a hat underneath. Good product.,,
