OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this backpack! Buy it! Finished a week long backpack trip into CA Sierra Nevada Mts. OK, we cheated and rode 15 miles in on horseback, but then were on our own & backpacked, hiked 30+ miles on rugged granite stewn trails. This backpack exceeded expectations. I'm 60 and don't weigh a whole lot, but this pack carried everything I needed (including some mini bottles of wine in plastic bottles...yes, we packed them out). The pack was balanced and fit well. Might have gone to a bigger pack if I had to carry more of a load. Suggestion would be to add a few outside zippered pockets. Already planning another trip for next summer! Bye, bye, old Kelty pack. Hooyah!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from loved this pack so much i named him oscer This pack has been amazing in so many ways. It fits perfectly but i would recommend trying on a pack before buying it online. There are many organizational features that are included in this version, including a piece of fabric that separates the sleeping bag compartment from the rest. The top detaches and can be a daypack. Another great feature is the interior, it is coated with a thin plastic. When i was in a down poor and expected to find everything soaked, it was dry! It is a great size and if you are packing correctly (i have gone on week long trips and been fine, so come on people wear the same shirt over and over till it stinks!). ,,-oscer the osprey ,,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Pack This is my wifes pack and she really likes it. The only complaint I have on the pack is that she has only used it one time and one of the loops on the back of the pack to store your ice ax or hiking poles pulled out from wher it was sewn in. Now osprey has a great warranty and I think they will fix it but that entails me having to pay for shipping to get it to them:( Other than that we are very satisfied with the it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing pack. This thing has everything you need. Just the right amount of padding, even weight distribution, plenty of space and pockets...plus you can compress it down to nothing if you need to. It's also incredibly easy to adjust to the right fit. I took this pack for a few days of backpacking and it was flawless. Incredibly comfortable and didn't bruise my hips like a lot of other packs have. Get this pack! You won't regret it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent but you could do better I bought this pack for my girlfriend as a gift and she's used it on 3 treks so far. She keeps coming along, so it can't be that bad. The pack is functional and she likes the sturdy foam hip belt that she molded to her hips. The main drawback is that there is only one outside pocket and a mesh compartment, which makes it difficult to organize and compartmentalize. For the price I wish I did better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack! Love the quality & all the compression features. I bought this pack for a backpacking trip in Scotland and some recreational hiking/camping around New England. It's been awesome. Especially with airport size requirements, this pack was great. All of the compression features made it possible to check the bag without any extra fees, and it made it easier to lug around all my gear for the 2 weeks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good beginner's pack My wife got this after we moved to Alaska and so far she's loving it. She says that it fits comfortable and distributes the weight comfortably. Durable construction too, seems like it should last for a long time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This pack will be my key to survival on the AT. Love this pack. Has lots of nice features. My sister in law tried it out and now also owns one. It is comfy and practical. Pretty too, which is a nice plus, when you're wearing hiking boots.
