OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stay Light and Move Fast I'm a huge fan of the Rev series, particularly the 12 liter version. I primarily use them for long runs. With the ability to carry a ton of water and plenty of space for a puffy jacket and rain gear, food for the day, and a few emergency supplies just in case plans go awry this is the only pack I want when moving fast and light in the mountains. The harness fits great and provides a very stable carry so that I'm focused on the trail and not what's on my back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack. More space than you think and very stable Love this pack. Came onto this site to see about buying a second one for travel! Its very light, but spacious enough for day hikes. Very flexible - the bladder area is great for my laptop when I travel for easy access! There are plenty of pockets so you can have easy access to towels, tissues, snacks etc without stopping. I love the concept of the phone pocket but it doesn't work well in practise - its too small and not really waterproof enough for tropical downpours. Fine for drizzle. But that pocket is good for sunglasses instead!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pack... needs a few adjustments or alterations This has the potential to be a great pack for ultrarunning -- self supported or minimal support. Large water capacity that is easy to refill. Pockets up front for fuel and electrolytes - easy access. Two large pockets that can carry extra bottles or larger items. Needs two things: (1) large area needs to have pockets so that items don't fall to the bottom of the pack and items can be separated. (2) Cinch straps to tighten the large compartment as it is emptied. I have modified my pack with both items and it works perfectly.
