The Omega Pacific ISO Cold Forged Jake Quik-Lok Carabiner for years has set the standard for HMS climbing carabiners, and features a shape that safely orients the load. The Jake biner centers the belay/rappel device so that in double-rope rappels neither strand of rope is pinched on the spine, which helps ensure a smooth and predictable rappel. This Omeaga Pacific carabiner is also equipped with a unique side-swing gate the offers greater gate clearance for even better ease of use. The Jake is for sure one of the coolest carabiners on the market.

"Great locker!" 12/26/12

The Jake rocks. From the moment you get this thing in your hands, you'll love it. I've got bigger mitts, and handling it feels great. One handed opening is a breeze, and the action is super smooth. I really dig how the gate swings wide, it gets out of the way and allows for more storage. It is a bit big, but so am I so it fits my needs perfectly.

Great biner! Use if as a part of my belay device, espicially working at a rock wall where after a full days work of belaying patrons requires a quick and secure device going from rope to rope.

"i didnt fall" 02/27/11

used 2 of these on a Tyrolean traverse for a race. they clipped on easy and held on tight. don't know much about the intricacy of carabiners but these seemed to work great.

"it's a featherweight BEAST" 02/15/11

This carabiner is lightweight, easy to use and the auto lock is smooth and works every time. I love the Omega shape because it keeps the carabiner situated exactly where you want it. One of the best biners I've come across.

"Best Autolocker I could find" 12/29/10

This biner is simply awesome. The autolocking feature is crucial for any recreational climber. The gate opens slightly away from the back for the mouth is wider than normal. The only complaint is that it is pretty big and bulky. The weight isn't too bad. Awesome biner thought I use it at the gym every week. Get one for you figure 8 and another for your belay device.

"It's chunky" 12/09/10

This biner operates great in terms of the auto locking gate. It still glides pretty smoothly and only gets caught occasionally. My only complaint is that it's pretty hefty to be using as a belay biner in the gym. For outdoors and anchor building it's great, but know that it's pretty chunky.

"Best Carabiner i've ever had!" 11/20/10

I carry around a half dozen of these when out climbing. There light so they don't weigh down your bag and the quik-lock makes them ideal for easy on and off of your bag or harness. All around exceptional Carabiner. Weather you are a beginner or advanced, this Carabiner will deffinitely be an asset to your gear.

"Great Biner!" 09/22/10

I'm in the military and purchased a few of these last month. The quik-lok gate and smooth design making high angle-rescue and recovery much easier then the manual locking carabiners. Plus, lets be honest they look freaking amazing!

"Perfect for Top Rope Masterpoint, ATC belaying, Rappel, not Gri-Gri Friendly" 06/03/10

Everyone should know that this 'biner isn't friendly to use with a Gri-Gri belay device due to its design. However, it is super sweet when used in top-rope anchor systems -- its pear shape is perfectly suited to doubling-up. It is super tough and will not show any signs of heavy use even after a full season of climbing (used properly). A good investment for belaying with a slew of other devices (ATC, Mad Lock, Petzl Reverso), the rounded edge makes for a much smoother belay than with D-spined biners.
