Body Fit - A body-hugging fit for aerobic activities. Ideal for running, skate skiing and next-to-skin layering.

Active Fit - A trim fit, and just loose enough for layering and freedom of movement. Ideal for backcountry skiing, climbing, mountaineering, running, and training.

Standard Fit - A happy medium fit that is not too tight, and not too loose. Standard fitting apparel will fit over base and mid-layers without restricting movement. Ideal for backpacking, hiking, travel, work, and casual wear.

Relaxed Fit - A roomier and more progressive fit, Mountain Hardwear relaxed styles might have a longer length than a standard fit, and a softer drape. Ideal for backpacking, hiking, skiing, and good old fashioned hanging out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants for hiking! These pants are great! I am 5'7" and normally wear a size 4 or 6 and the size 6 fits me well with some room to spare. I've tried other hiking pants that seem to be tight in the wrong places (the thighs/hips) and too large in others (the waist) but these fit me very comfortably. The bottoms are wide enough to fit over my boots. The belt needs to be tightened more frequently than I'd like but that's a minor issue in my eyes. I wear these for recreational hiking and for work which requires me to be out in the field on occasion, hiking through outdoor preserves. I'm amazed at how sturdy the fabric is as I've yet to poke a hole in them from brushing against branches, rocks, etc.
