Polartec Thermal Pro

Polartec Thermal Pro
Polartec Thermal Pro is soft and plush on the inside, but has a durable exterior. It's a lot like an M&M. But not really. Thermal Pro is fast drying, highly breathable, wind and water repellent and has an impressive warmth to weight ratio. M&M has nothing on that. Too bad you can't buy Polartec Thermal Pro with peanuts or peanut butter on the inside, though.

Polartec Power Stretch

Polartec Power Stretch
Polartec Power Stretch has the ability to retain warmth without restricting movement during physical activities. It utilizes resiliant elastic fibers to ensure performance fit, making it ideal for any kind of aerobic outdoor pursuits. Examples: hiking, skiing, running, biathlon, triathlon, quadrathlon, whatever-comes-next-athlon, and mountaineering.

Body Fit - A body-hugging fit for aerobic activities. Ideal for running, skate skiing and next-to-skin layering.

Active Fit - A trim fit, and just loose enough for layering and freedom of movement. Ideal for backcountry skiing, climbing, mountaineering, running, and training.

Standard Fit - A happy medium fit that is not too tight, and not too loose. Standard fitting apparel will fit over base and mid-layers without restricting movement. Ideal for backpacking, hiking, travel, work, and casual wear.

Relaxed Fit - A roomier and more progressive fit, Mountain Hardwear relaxed styles might have a longer length than a standard fit, and a softer drape. Ideal for backpacking, hiking, skiing, and good old fashioned hanging out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patagonia-only-turned-Mountain-Hardware-lover I usually only really like Patagonia jackets and would not be willing to spend $150+ on something that is not a Patagonia. A Patagonia-loving friend recommended this jacket though so I thought I would try it out. It seriously is the warmest fleece I own and everyone wants to touch it when they see me wearing it. I measured a large via the size chart but would definitely not recommend following that--I exchanged for a medium which fits perfect (5'5" 145lbs). Highly recommend this jacket, just not sure when I'll get to use it in Houston! But I will find a way. Buy it regardless of where you gives you an excuse to travel to cold places!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome - most versatile jacket in my closet! I can't say enough good things about this jacket! I have other Mountain Hardware jackets, but this is my favorite because it tapers in at the waist and is more feminine than my others that are a bit boxy. It also seems a little longer in the waist and arms which is good for my body proportions (again, this is compared to other Mountain Hardware jackets). I was concerned about the fabric once I washed it, but I washed on delicate and hung up to dry, and it did very well and is still super soft. This is perfect worn alone or as a base layer, and stylish enough to wear with jeans when I'm simply running around town. Most worn jacket in my closet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely comfy, "mountain hardwear" on breast of Jacket is actually bright yellow, not blended in. This is my 3rd Monkey jacket. Lost my first one (black) at a tailgate back in '09. I was devastated. That jacket and I had been through a lot together. It went everywhere with me and everyone complimented me on it. My 2nd Monkey Jacket, I decided to get crazy and buy the purple one. I liked it, same comfort, but it wasn't very versatile (couldn't wear it with my red concert shoes). So I just bought my third jacket (black). I was disappointed to see the Mountain Hardwear label on the chest is actually bright yellow, not like the picture. I was going to return it, but I was cold and put it on immediately. Believe it or not, this doesn't make it less comfy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cute and practical. Gotta love it! So soft! So cute!,,This jacket is a great, versatile item. Super warm and cozy without lots of bulk or weight. ,,For me the jacket was very true to size. It is a slim fit (which makes it great for layering) but that doesn't mean it runs small. I went with my normal size and it fits perfectly.,,Wind will cut right though this jacket. If you're going to be somewhere windy, layer this with a wind proof item and you'll bet set!,,Have seen some of these jackets get really matted down in places like the shoulders from people carrying bags, etc. Mine is fine thus far but it's something to keep in mind. ,,Overall: super cute, great for layering, warm without bulk

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LoVe love LOVE! Monkey = AWESOME! It is extremely light weight,& comfortable fits like a glove! I have a women's in black and a men's in dark green and I love them both! They are great because they can be so compact yet they keep me so so warm when we camp, hike, even simply running around! I prefer this jacket over North Face's Denali because the one thing that people don't realize when they are ordering a jacket online is the arm holes. North Face jackets have a rough, more tight fitting cuff, while Mtn Hardwear has a soft, more relaxed yet fitted cuff. It really does make a huge difference when you wear it as I do. The arms are also more fitted than North Face styles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would recommend this jacket to anyone. Very warm and comfortable. All around nice fleece. Just bought this jacket for my wife for Valentine's Day, due in part to the awesome sale, but mainly because she got me one for Christmas and I love it! I have been wanting to upgrade to this kind of fleece for a while, and was excited to get one. My first time wearing it was in temps below 32 degrees and it was comfortably warm for me with only a long sleeve shirt underneath. I also was debuting this jacket at a ski resort one evening after getting off the slopes, while doing some photography. I wore a thermal long sleeve and another tee under it, and I was warm enough with outside temps around 17. Great fleece, good for layering under a shell. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT I bought this jacket not too long ago and absolutely love it. I also have an Osito jacket by The North Face but this Mountain Hardware fleece is so much more comfortable. What makes it so great? It is form fitting for one. I usually wear size small being 5'5 and 115lbs and the Mountain Hardware jacket fits better than my North Face. I can wear a sweatshirt under both jackets but the Mountain Hardware jacket doesn't look as bulgy. My North Face also has elastic around the wrists and waist which always annoys me and my Mountain Hardware jacket does not. Overall I would definitely recommend it over any North Face jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket! Incredible Warmth! I purchased the mens jacket for myself a few weeks ago. It has barely left my back, except for when my girlfriend steals it to wear it. She loved it so much that I decided to buy her one as well. She absolutely loves it! The fact that it compacts so small (about the size of a nalgene bottle, but squishy) is a great plus. This is the perfect jacket for laying under a shell for fall or even winter backpacking when used with another insulating layer underneath the jacket! It is so warm that I found myself unable to wear it in the house without overheating! When out on trips the jacket is perfect! Wear it to start the day and stuff it down in your pack when you get too hot.
