The Mountain Hardwear Women's Campina Short is designed for rugged hikes. If you're one of those cool hiker chicks, you'll be impressed with these shorts' many incredible features. Like three independent waist closures. And the hidden drawcords that allow you to cinch the legs. They're water resistant too. There are way more cool features but I can't remember them all.

Waist construction with three independent closures prevents failure on the trail
"Zip to the top" fl y for lowest profile waistband

The SPECS of the Mountain Hardwear Women's Campina Short
The 7" inseam shorts are well-made, with thoughtful closure (2 small interior snaps, zip to the top with zipper garage and a great hook-clasp belt that really would sit nicely under a pack), a lovely lightweight breathable material and heaps of pockets. However, none of this does you a lick of good if you can't move in them - any ladies with a powerful butt and legs from cycling, downhill/xc skiing, speed skating or other leg-dominant sports may find that the cut simply won't accommodate them. The waist and hips run a bit large, but the fabric has no stretch and the legs simply aren't loose enough for mobility if you've got a lot of muscle mass - sub-optimal for dedicated hikers.
