"Impressive waterproofing, extremely lightweight, hard shell. FANTASTIC VALUE"
12/11/12
I bought this jacket primarily for a snow skiing shell, but wanted it to double as a rain jacket in our mild, home climate. For reference, I am 6'2" and 220lbs. I typically wear a 46 regular coat. This jacket has a snug, athletic fit, so there won't be much room for extra layers on the coldest days. It is a HARD shell. The dry Q waterproffing is absolutely amazing! I have had it in a total wash out and stayed dry as a bone, and it is highly breathable too. The sleaves are a touch short, so I don't think the "buttery cuffs" will help me much, but I still love the jacket overall. I think it is an absolute steal at $229, since this year's jacket is $550!
I doubt I will be using this for winter sports as my cold tolerance is pretty low and it won't accomodate a whole lot underneath it. The arms are a little short so the thumb holes don't work so well on my tall frame. I would have swapped to an XL but it was too baggy in the middle. If you have a normal sized fram and arms this one will work great for you.
