We typically try to come up with relative obscure movie names for Moosejaw stuff so we can trade emails about movies all day at work instead of working. The movie that inspired the Keyser Söze is so obvious that we’re not going to bother asking you if you’re familiar. It’s The Usual Suspects and, if you haven’t seen it, you should stop what you’re doing and get it right now. More importantly, in the movie one of the characters, Verbal Kent says “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't exist." Well, it is that line that inspired this hoody. More specifically, I’m certain that I don’t exist and neither do you. According to Thomas Jefferson, “while fate is an excuse for poor performance our mere existence needs to be questioned every time we fail to brush our teeth in the shower or pretend that relaxing is worthwhile.” While I can’t actually find a real source that attributes that quote to Jefferson, most people find it difficult to conclude that he for sure didn’t say it.
I rarely double check my work but I just re-read the previous paragraph and I don’t like it. I’m not editing it though so I apologize if reading it made your day worse. More importantly, in the movie, The Usual Suspects, what’s the name of the McManus’ fence in LA? If you order the Söze and know the answer I’ll add 100 Moosejaw points to your account. Please email your answer and your order number to me at Clifford@moosejaw.com and I’ll add the points.
