Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Rain Jacket Out There! LOVE this jacket. I've had this jacket for almost 2 years now and still looks brand new. I shopped around before purchasing my Marmot PreCip jacket and I couldn't be happier with my decision to purchase it. This is by far the best jacket out there. I wear this jacket all the time - camping, in town, to work, hiking, running and I've always stayed dry. I've worn it in a torrential downpour and stayed dry. It's lightweight and can be folded up to pack for any trip - I take it everywhere with me. Also has a great hood! I purchased the Green Envy/Leaf color and have received TONS of compliments on the appearance of the jacket. I give this jacket a 5/5 stars!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for keeping you dry. You get wet, you get cold! This is not exactly what I thought it would be. I got this out and thought it was like wearing a paper jacket. It is a little noisy. The more I wore this, the more I liked it. It does not have any warmth what so ever, but it does keep you dry. I am 5' 9" and weigh 145lbs. I bought a size large. There is room to layer. I do not like tight jackets, so it is perfect for me. If you like a more snug fit and are only wearing a tank or t-shirt, you could probably consider a medium. I am glad the sleeves are long enough. Even though this isn't the exact thing I thought I was buying, I will keep it and I do like the product.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lightweight rain jacket that you can take anywhere! This rain jacket is great - so thin & lightweight that you can roll it up & carry it in your purse for "cloudy with a chance of rain" weather. I also took this on a 3-day backpacking trip to Mt Lemmon in Tucson, AZ where there was wind & a rainstorm. It weighed next to nothing & was easily shoved in my pack for storage - barely knew it was there until I needed it! This jacket is purely for wind & rain....not insulated which is good because it keeps it light/packable & is perfect for spring/summer rain & wind. I'm 5'4" & 125lbs. I got the medium vivid blue which fits great & even has a little room for a light fleece or sweater underneath if the weather is chilly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps me dry in wretched Chicago weather This fall I decided to shoot for being an all season biker and invested in the preclip jacket and pants. I had a little sticker shock - I rarely drop more that $70 on anything- but this was worth it. I've been biking in all kinds of weather and the jacket/pants duo has kept me dry and not over-heated. As the temperature has dropped, I've been layering a fleece underneath and always stayed cozy. Also, the wrist velcro has kept water from sneaking in under my gloves. And finally, it is not so totally functional that I am ashamed to be seen in it. Surprisingly flattering. You should especially buy it if it's on sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUY IT Completely recommend this product. The pit vents help keep you cool, so you're not baking in what feels like a sweat suit. The colors are great. My favorite part by far is the weight of the jacket, however. I was looking for something that I could shove in a day pack for overnight trips and not have it be so heavy that I even consider just "man-ing it out" and getting wet. You don't even notice it in your pack. Good coverage on the hood, arms are a good length too. I'm 5'10'', 130 lbs and got the medium. It leaves the perfect amount of room to layer, while still leaving my wrists covered and figure looking ready for the Miss Mountain-America pageant. Kudos, Marmot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly Versatile! Wore it in the rainforest and to summit Mt. Washington! LOVE this jacket! I bought it last spring and have loved it ever since. It performs amazing in an extreme downpour of straight rain but also as a great wind stopper, here are some of my experiences:,,-hiking in rain/wind/any element: AWESOME! Seriously, my #1 piece of apparel,,-running: I tended to overheat, but the arm pit vents are great,,-everyday walking around (in Ohio, with bipolar weather): a great looking jacket that is both functional and fashionable!,,*I am 5'9/145lbs and a medium fits me wonderfully! I originally got a large since I am rather tall for a woman, but it was too large width wise. Also, I have the bright pink and I love it (so do my friends, I am very easy to find!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value rain shell The Precipitation is the best value waterproof shell out there (especially when it's on sale). I've been abusing mine for a year on day hikes, snowshoeing, spring skiing and around town and it is still doing it's job.I've stayed dry even when sitting in torrential downpour for 3 hours. It is very lightweight and packable, but it is not the most breathable though the pit zips help. It offers no insulation, making it versatile enough for summer wear. ,,,,I'm 5'5 150 lbs and typically wear a size 8, I have a large it looks a little sloppy even with a fleece layer. I should have bought a medium.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I purchased this jacket from I purchased this jacket from an online retailer 2 weeks ago. I went to Yellowstone last week and really gave it a workout. One evening while waiting for a geyser eruption the mosquitoes were awful, so although it was warm I put on the jacket with hood for protection. It worked great! The next morning we had snow flurries and the PreCip over a fleece vest was perfect. The wind popped up and again, the PreCip was great for protection. On the way home I wound up fueling the car in a gully-washer of a downpour, but stayed nice and dry in the PreCip. It would get 5 stars if it had a 2-way zip (not really built for a gal with hips) and if it were less *crinkly* sounding, although I realize that is the nature of fully waterproof gear.
