"Good all-round rain or snow jacket. More flexible than 3-layer shells. Powder skirt."

I've owned an earlier version of this jacket for years, and the latest improvements only make it better without changing its core identity: This is an all-rounder. If you want one jacket for both rain gear and skiing, this is it. The 2-layer fabric drapes softly instead of crinkly like a 3-layer shell. It's also quieter than a 3-layer shell, and looks a bit more appropriate for wearing around town. The snow skirt works really well when you take a spill, but zips off when the season is done. Of course it has that awesome Marmot fit & their famous hood so you can move without being restricted at all, those are perfect and can't be improved upon.
"Great quality waterproof jacket; performs as expected. Nice Fit"

I'm an advanced snowboarder (17 seasons) and a beginner skier (2 seasons). I ride 5 to 6 hours a day, 3 to 4 days a week at the resort where I work part-time. This jacket keeps me dry on days with 33+ degree temps and very wet snow. The water repellent finish also keeps the jacket dry. Also an excellent jacket in 20 degree temps and 15 - 20 mph winds. I'm not a cold person, so I am very comfortable in this jacket wearing just a lightweight base layer and the Marmot Approach vest. If needed, I wear the hood under my helmet otherwise I remove it. The powder skirt is nice, but I do wish the jacket was longer (I know it's not a true snowboard jacket) for those falls on 18 inch pow days.
