Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and fully waterproof. These pants are fully waterproof and the fit and style of the cut is amazing. Great mobility too. The other reviewer is wrong about the pants being baggy, if anything they are cut slimmer, a 'European Cut' as I was told. I've never been a Medium anything in my life, but that is what size I had to order. Read the size guide and you won't go wrong. Also these pants will be shredded if you use them with Crampons without gaiters, be warned. I still wouldn't go with a heavier pant though. These are lightweight for packing, thin enough for summer, and all you would ever need for winter if you wear a base underneath. Get the gaiters to protect them, if you use crampons, done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from finally Gore Tex pants I can run in I have been looking for Gore Tex (or similar) pants I can run in when it is raining and cold. I am an ultrarunner so am sometimes out on runs for hours, and would rather not let cold rainstorms deter me from training. Most Gore Tex pants are meant for mountaineering or skiing/boarding, and far too heavy for running. I have tried other lighter fabrics and brands that either didn't work (to keep me dry), or too flimsy (one shredded in my side-loading clothes washer). These pants rock. Very light, not too warm, can move freely in them, and brushing against branches and bushes didn't cause any noticeable defects in the fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rainpants If you're looking for something ultra light and breathable these are great pants. I've been very cautious buying Paclite stuff in the past because i always questioned its durability. These have held up great. When i first got them i was scared to sit on rocks with them now i do anything i would normally do, i've gained some confidence in their ruggedness. The are a little baggy i could have gotten a size smaller i think but overall they are great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for wind I used these on Kilimanjaro. I didn't need them until I hit 16K ft. when the winds picked up. I wast just wearing my softshell pants at the time. these were in my daypack. I put them on and instantly things got better. Great wind block, and super lightweight to carry.  They're perfect in every way except one. I can not put them on without taking my boots off. Dear Marmot, have you thought about changing the side zipper to start above the knee? I will soon be headed up Mt. Ranier. I'm taking these with me, because they work so well, but I know they will be a hassle if I have to put these on while on the trail.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Minimalism never looked so good Every time I try on a new garment from Marmot, it’s like meeting the love of my life all over again, but please don’t tell the love of my life that I said that. These shell pants are everything I hoped they would be. The cut and fit are great – at 6’1, 160 lbs., I wear a medium). Like most Gore-Tex stuff, it doesn't breathe terribly well, but it will stop wind and water as well as anyone could ask. These are the pants I would wear to play basketball in freezing rain – you know, if, for some reason, I had to play basketball in freezing rain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome pants The pants are light, well made and very comfortable fit. I ordered XL because of the inseam. Large are too short for my likes. They're true to the Goretex name, they're waterproof and wind proof. ,,Cons-Lack of belt loops and the length of the zippers at the feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent waterproof pants. As advertized. I needed a pair of waterproof pants to protect me on my commute to work. These have been nothing but excellent for that. I have worn them several times in light rains up to torrential down pours and they have always kept me dry. The zippers do their job too. My phone or wallet has never been wet. I would not wear "rain gear" while hiking in the rain, so I cannot comment on that, but I suspect these would perform well too in that environment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Great Rain Pants I've owned 2 pairs of these pants. They are lightweight and pack down really small. My issue is that they haven't held up well here in Alaska. I'm constantly patching them. My last pair I punched a hole in them my first time wearing them. I slipped walking down a rocky trail and gently landed in a seated position. When I stood up, my wife pointed out 2 small holes. I wouldn't recommend them if you plan on going off trail.
