"Functional, good looking, solidly constructed, as you would expect from Marmot" 08/01/12
As one of the other reviewers said, the cut of this jacket might be best suited to someone with a slender or athletic build. At 5'11", 165, the Medium fits me perfectly. Looks great around town walking the dog on chilly days, and it served me well trekking to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, both as an outer layer at lower altitudes and as a medium layer on summit day. At about 500 grams, it's pretty lightweight and packs great. If I had to nit-pick, I wish it had the inside chest pocket like my Marmot Gravity jacket. But that aside, I expect it to last for years to come. A winner!
"Breathes Well - Not Wind Proof" 12/09/11
Jacket has an athletic/slim fit. Might be too tight in the chest for some. It is very breathable, but don't think this jacket is wind proof because it is a softshell. You will feel some wind/chill thru this jacket if you wear it on very cold days. If you use it for working out in semi-cold conditions it is a winner.
"I don't think you can go wrong with marmot." 10/28/11
I've taken this jacket on every climb I've done since I bought it, and I love it.It's not that heavy, and it fits in a day pack really easily, and when you take a break, or it starts raining, it's really good to bust out. I love this jacket, and I would absolutely buy it again. I wear it over a flannel on colder days in the city, and wear it as my primary shell on most adventures. Worth it. I would suggest you buy it.
"TO iCELAND AND BEYOND" 03/23/11
In the ever changing weather conditions in Iceland this jacket stood tall-as a layering jacket it was more than enough to tackle the wind and the snow on our adventures-so I ordered in a different flavor because it is simply the best jacket I have ever worn and will accept no substitute, yes you might say the Porsche of jackets, thanks Joel
"Love this jacket." 03/21/11
Slightly stretchy softshell, great for lighter conditions / more aerobic activity. The M3 is the lightest weight of Marmot's softshell line. It runs true to size (I have the Med, 5'8" / 190 athletic), in a trim cut - great for not having overhang of fabric, but long enough on the arms/ waist. Looks pretty sick. It also makes it a great midlayer for colder climes.Wind-resistant but not 100% windproof, but that's what you want in a lighter softshell, as it breathes great and also allows some circulation even when zipped up, in stronger winds. Love love love this jacket. Holds up well in washings and love the shoulder zipper too. Great construction.
